I really liked that first bong, too! Really cool! But I'm not really big on bongs that are shaped like that. I like little ones and the ones that are just like a straight up tube. I find it easier to control hit sizes. I don't have very big lungs and if you milk a bong that's too big, you end up with a lot of wasted nasty yellow smoke.
i didn't like the first one either, but the other 2 were nice. the OPs bowl is nothing special, which is fine if that's what you want i wonder if those glow in the dark bongs are glass on glass
HA! Everyones got personal taste man. But if you know anything about glass and glass pipes you would know that shit you posted is all DEFAULT. Those color methods have been around for ever and everyone has already done it. I like originality, its functional art, I think the pipes you posted are crap. Lets see some fume work, or at least some like, original coloring lol
Lol show me a pipe from "forever ago" that had honeycombs. Also you must not be too in touch with what fuming is if you can't tell that the first pipe I posted is fumed. Never said those pipes weren't technically "crap" when compared to real glass art, they just aren't as crappy as that 5$ bowl, but what can you expect for the price. Not trying to defend a pipe I wouldn't buy, since all I did was post a picture of the first "nice" bowl I found in carousing etsy that day, but you you are overlooking some artistic detail with the first pipe. The claws allow the bowl to be held easier and add some flare, the carb is designed perfectly for PHAT rips, and having honeycombs at both ends of the pipe isn't bad for 80$, though not great by any means. Also please show me examples of "everyone's already done it" in relation to the first pipe I posted. I just simply don't believe you since everyone isn't doing it. Here are pictures of a pipe I did actually buy
Thats pretty nice and original, got a unique comb. But honestly dude, honeycomb is in every glassblowing publication there is, its a tecnique that has been around for like a 100 years. And when I meant fume work, I didnt mean "some fuming" I meant like some serious all out fumed piece work. Check out some snodgrass pipes, fuming like that is where its at because you can do so many dif things with silver or gold fume that come out dif everytime.
Depends on how/where you get it. I bought a super heady snodgrass chillum at a fest for like 1/5th of what they charge on the site. You just gotta know where to look, those 80 dollar pipes on etsy can be found on lot for like 20
Not really a fan of snodgrass glass, I like "some fuming" in combination with reversals, windows, honeycombs, facets, millies, chaos, etc etc rather than snod's all out fuming. I know he's the godfather of fuming, but I'd still buy the Natty piece I have pictures of over most any snod piece any day, though I'd still pick up a snod piece just to say I have some snod in my collection. My favorite glass artists are Mike Fro, AK, El Hefe, E. Ross, Freek (talk about beautiful fuming), Mermonkey, Salt, PaKoH, and Slinger.
I hear ya man, but reversals, windows, combs, facets, millies, chaos etc are ALL UNORIGINAL. Been done too many times to be considered unique. Its about personal pref but as a noob glassblower I try to stay away from that kinda stuff. I love the piece you got, one of the coolest combs i seen. Im into organic looking glass art, trippy organic shit. I got some chillums I could post pics of, 2 but I am a novice and havent been doing any glasblowig for months because its too cold for the glass but come spring I will be in full production.
Here are a couple other good site to check out. I have tried out shivadas and brothers with glass. www.shivadas.com www.brotherswithglass.com www.glassblownpipes.net I am not sure what my favorite tobacco shop is but that all get decent reviews.
I never thought about checking etsy! I've only gone to local places and spent wayyy too much on glass pieces. I've used http://www.grasscity.com They are a little over priced, too, but they have some good deals sometimes.
I don't like the fact that a lot of the sellers don't say how big the pipe is. Other than that they have some great prices and shipping rates. Thanks for the link.
