Nope. I rarely ever paint mine. I should because i love long nails but can never be bothered. Plus, ill paint them all lovely but get too bored of waiting for them to dry and i'll always do something and smudge them. grrr
I do paint my nails on very rare occasions...I did for my best friends wedding and probably will for my own...but I feel that nail polish damages my nails. My natural nails have become very strong over the past few years and once I start painting them and trying to manicure them, they become brittle again...so I just let them go however they want
I paint my toes and it lasts for a good month, or longer. My fingernails never last. Plus, I have fat fingernails (wide) that I keep short, so it never looks good on me. Natural hands and surpise! toes.
I think I've had them painted maybe 3 times- once for some wedding or something, another time my teacher painted them when I was in kindergarten, and then I painted them with glow in the dark. Otherwise, nope. Probably never will again, not with the crap they put in that stuff. Plus, when it starts chipping, it's a huge breeding ground for bacteria.
I honestly cant remember the last time my nails didnt have polish on them lol. I have fun painting them, and I like wearing funky colors on them. I like to look down at my hands and seeing them all shiny and colorful. I guess ive just got so used to it over the years (wearing nail polish) that with out it, my nails look naked lol. Im not trying to impress anyone or anything, I just think its fun. Im not into french tips though, I find those boring. I keep my nails short and always have a bright flashy color on them. I used to work at a restaurant and all the old customers would always be sure to point out my turquoise nails lol
I don't paint my fingernails anymore. It drives the females in my family bonkers, because I have the longest nails out of all of them and I don't paint them. I honestly haven't painted my fingernails since high school. My toenails I paint during the summer and fall but that is it.
I paint them purely because it helps them to stay strong and grow long. They always just split and tear off when they're not painted. I need to get clear paint, I'm sick of chippy colour.
You're very unlikely to get masses of bacteria causing a problem on your nails, and even if you were, chipped paint would make little difference. Bacteria cause problems in folds, creases and moist places, so maybe the cuticles or under your nails, but again the paint makes no difference at all.
