I've never lost the ability to understand the word of others, but I've lost the ability to use them myself.

    ^^^same.

it's also hard to read since the words are moving all over the screen/page

Yea, there have been plenty of times I couldn't comprehend what someone was saying to me. The words would came through clear as day, i just couldn't put them together as thoughts in my head, they just had no meaning.

It seems like when I trip gibberish starts making sense. I use sounds to explain a lot more, it's kinda like what you're saying I guess, only backwards.

this experience was quite different from that. its more like the words dont sound like english anymore. in class the other day i was still coming down from a high dose trip and i put my head down from being tired. all of sudden my teachers words turned into "bushnelopkatomay!, anha ta youfulu havne!" lol well something like that. i immediately put my head up and assessed the situation being reminded this has happened before except it once led to a very confusing bad trip where all i could hear was "methemeteroites"

The only thing I have experienced is like SoulVibrations, I would hear perfectly fine, but there would seem to be an eternity between words so the entire sentence didn't compute. Also it can get where you hear fine but the sound doesn't really match the meaning anymore, if you get what I mean by that.. Same kind of thing as if you just repeat the same word over and over, it begins to lose the connection to the meaning ascribed to it.
    Hope that is clear.

No that hasn't happened to me. Depending on where i am in my trip the only people i usually comprehend or take the time to listen to and understand are the people i am tripping with. No one else makes much sense, from the guy on TV to the guy behind the counter at wawa.

i can connect with everyone on what theyre saying i just feel this opposite reaction is just paranoia, kinda like the fear or words meaning nothing, yet normally while tripping they dont mean anything.... see where i am getting? idk its just a duality thing i suppose. and i really think its mainly linked to some of my paranoia/fears

During my one and only truly strong LSD experience so far I was trying to listen to some Eric Clapton. The words just wouldn't make sense. Clapton was wailing into the microphone and I couldn't understand a thing. I laughed and laughed. I thought it was pretty humorous.

reminds me of my experience listening to the beatles "getting better" the word 'better' turned into something that everyone just shouts for fun. it had lost its meaning and gained so much playfulness with everyone just shouting better haha that was a great time

I've had trouble processing sentences before, never heard them come through as complete gibberish on LSD tho. Last trip I had, I definitely processed and understood the sentence 'Get over here and fuck me now I'm about to explode'

In 2006 I was on 2 tabs at my friends house. I lost my understanding of everything including speach.

My buddy played this video for me, which I had seen before, and I could not comprehend what was going on in the video... and its pretty damn obvious. (youtube.com/watch?v=eEeF7stwO1w)

the linguistic oddity that i encounter is words or phrases taking on meanings that seems more profound than they ordinarily would, or there is nothing profound about it but the words resonate and echo deep into me for some reason....it can be pretty random. ill never forget on my first lsd trip hearing a stranger use the phrase "bunch of ravers", its weird and random, but it invoked such a cartoony feeling that was very distinguished.

that was generally the experience of my friends and i a few summers ago. everything we said and did made so MUCH sense that it had to be documented. i remember calling someone a "yammering buffoon" and laughing for what could have been minutes.. weeks.. who knows. but everything took on a deep second or even third meaning.

there have also been times that i listened to conversations for probably a few hours before i realized that i had no idea what was being said.
or reading books that suddenly appeared to be russian.
or stopping mid sentence or story, realizing i had been speaking gibberish, or non-english anyway, only to be reassured that i had been making perfect sense all along.

oh Lucy, you can be a fickle mistress!

Definitely. Especially on high doses. I usually have to re learn how to talk. Then comes the mass confusion of vocabulary. Mainly on higher doses around other people, tripping or not. Cause your pretty much forced to speak and be involved. I don't know about everyone else but usually when dosed highly I tend to talk to myself. With or without people. And I'm for sure not schizo, I've experienced Lucy with many, many different people spun out of their minds. They usually are talking to themselves. Knowingly or not.

the funny thing about the ego and daily conversation, most of us talk just to talk and put our input in. this can be seen as us talking to ourselves because we only tell other people things for our own purposes. and it seems to me when im tripping i see the duality of everything. words can either mean their literal sense, or can be connected to the ultimate truth/what you may experience on LSD. its great insight and can lead to a lot of energy/realization of the self

^ Couldn't have put it into better words. I was trying for like ten minutues to try to explain it, but couldn't. Its pretty difficult to explain why that does happen.

Closest thing to this I have experienced was when the word 'perfect could be used to describe everything I saw when on shrooms. It wasn't that I suddenly thought everything WAS perfect, just the word changed it's meaning in my head. It is kind of hard to explain.

When I first started tripping audio hallucinations were much more predominant they are now. I have heard all sorts of gibberish, slow voice, fast voice, blips and bleeps, woos and waahs, and all sorts of other sound distortion. On 5 gs of mushies I was able to control filtering certain things. Peoples would talk but I was inside, they're words became more deranged and broken up until finally the sound just shut off.
