    I would love to go to such an event if one were nearby. I am a mathematician and I love going to events like that for Math. They are usually really fun. Everyone is a nerd and no one cares!

    Breaking Convention: A Multidisciplinary Conference on Psychedelic Consciousness' will be held at the University of Kent on April 2nd-3rd, 2011, and will feature:
    • Dr. Rick Doblin, Amanda Feilding, Dr. Neal Goldsmith, Dr. Franz Vollenweider, Graham Hancock, Prof. Torsten Passie, Dr. Luis Eduardo Luna, Paul Devereux, Dr. Andy Letcher, Dr. Peter Oehen, Bia Labate, Dr. Evgeny Krupitsky, Mike Jay, Prof. Val Curran, Andy Roberts and more.
    • Video presentations from Prof. Ralph Metzner, Ram Dass, and Dr. Stan Grof.
    • Screenings of 'DMT: The Spirit Molecule', and 'Dirty Pictures'.
    • Several tracks of seminars, debates, workshops and presentations from submitted abstracts.
    • Screenings of short psychedelic films, including ‘2012: Time For Change’, and 'Vine of the Soul'.
    • An Ayahuasca track, convened by Bia Labate.
    • Four invited symposia: 'What Do Psychedelics Mean?', convened by Dr. David Luke; 'Psychiatry Symposium' & 'Ecstasy: Its place in medicine, society and politics', convened by Dr. Ben Sessa; 'Current Research on Psychedelics and Consciousness at the University of Kent', convened by Dr. Anna Waldstein and Dr. Cameron Adams; and 'Bold Visions: The Future of Psychedelic Culture and Research', convened by Dave King.
    • Two evening parties with live music, and a wine reception.
