mixing xanax and opiates. I'm not an addict / habitual user, my tolerance is either non-existant or very small. I am very interested in trying this, but I've heard a lot about how much of an easy way it is to kill yourself. So, I have a few questions. 1) What kind of doses can I take and expect to be very safe, with minimal chance of respiratory failure. As it is, I get a good feel from 1 mg of xanax, but it's very moreish for me and by the end of the night I might have done 5. I don't have this problem with opiates. Is it crucial to keep BOTH dosages low, or would an increase in the opiate be more dangerous? 2) any advice for timing? What I like to do is dissolve some xanax under my tongue. Should I wait for the opiates to kick in, and take the xanax? I am thinking of taking no more than 20 mg of hydrocodone, and maybe 2 -4 mg of xanax. I guess what I'm asking is if that's too much. I can get a good buzz going off 20 mg of oxycodone. And finally, is it substantially different from either alone? Or just straight up A + B with some synergy?
It can be dangerous, but I've done it many times. The danger mainly comes when you fall asleep after combining high doses of benzos and opiates. If you don't take enough to nod out or pass out, then you will be fine. You'll be fine with 20-30mg of hydrocodone/oxydcodone with 3-4mg of alprazolam. I did that yesterday, in fact. lol And yes....there is definitely some worth potentiation going on. It's very nice.
Agreed, I think 20mg of hydrocodone and 2-4mg of xanax would be on the safer side of drug combos. I would take the hydrocodone first as the xanax hits pretty quickly, so it is easier to titrate your dosage.
^ Taking Benzo's with Opiates may make you nod a bit harder but it will be less euphoric... It totally zonks you, and depresses your mind. I prefer Opiates alone, or with a dissociative, like DXM or K, they do take away from anything trippy though, they can be nice with Psyches, but take away from the psychedelia for sure.
