I don't have anyway to just let my dog out, so I have to walk him. I usually walk him twice a day, but lately he's been having lots of accidents. If you have a dog that needs to be walked, how often do you walk him/her each day?
I try to everyday. If i can i at least go do some things outside so she gets exercise. She needs at least a few hours of playtime so that she sleeps at night. I refuse to let her gain weight. Some peoples dogs i know are fat lazy and very unhealthy since they sit inside all day. Our shepard mix is outside almost all day getting exercise. He is 12 now and in amazing shape. Exercise helps!
Dogs, like people need to pee every couple of hours... Dog needs fresh water all the time.. ALL THE TIME.. There shouldnt be a moment where the dog has no water. Just as you are able to drink when you want. So should your pet.. /you can get a tie out chain for the house , or you live in an apartment buy some Soil pads see in the pet store. Smaller dogs will use the pad if you teach it too.. I have a large dog that requires all my attention, Like a Baby or a child.. He is my family or better than my family..
i feel bad sometimes If I dont play with my dog. just send him outside.. Im sure my dog understands that I can not play with him all the time outside. though I have a big house with alot of stairs, I can trick him into wearing himself out on them. up and down ball playing and some the other rooms are just carpeted with no big furniture in the way, but I dont care if he jumps on the couch and stuff... Lots of times he jumps on and off the couch for exercise.. he knows his business is done outside and dont take to long when its cold out.. Let Siberian husky out and in 5minutes hes flying back inside at light speed.. I lol, cause a few times I feel like Im sure glad the snowman isnt trying to kill me, since the dog is 100yard ahead of me and isnt turning back... He plopped down on the couch..
I have 11 dogs. The mini's like to play with each other and get into trouble as a pack. The one sharpei likes to avoid them when he can. He is above all that little dog stuff. I play a lot in the house with the dachshunds as they are small and you can. They also do not do well in the cold so time outside all winter is limited. They like to do their business and head back in. So they have tons of toys and play chase in the house when it is cold.
I have a wolfhound x she is only about 7 months old so i take her for two short walks a day but she gets plenty of exercise swimming and playing when we are down at the horses, she is an inside dog but when she is inside she has been taught to be quiet and not too boisterous cause she is so big she demolishes the place if you let her. My Mums dog has recently started having accidents inside too for no apparent reason, there have been no drastic changes in her life she has just decide inside is as good as out, we are just treating her like a puppy and re house training.
I don't walk my boxer or bloodhound/lab mix regularly, atleast 3 times a week when its warm out we do go for walks in the woods or down by the bay though. I am lucky cause i live around alot of farms and everything is really spread out with no main roads, so they are free to roam if they like but they never do. The boxer is a little off so he just follows the older bloodhound/lab mix who fortunately doesn't track anything. This time of year they are in and out so fast you question wether they even went to the bathroom. I do have to exercise the bloodhound/lab mix daily or he will get into all kinds of trouble in the house, so we play catch until he is tired, usually like 30-45minutes. it can be a pain in the ass but i love him so its cool. The boxer just chases after him 5-6 times then gives up. lol.
how old is your dog? young dogs need to use the bathroom more than twice a day, and i assume the same is true of very old dogs. middle age dogs can usually get by with only going twice a day
