Trust me if you take kratom everyday for a few weeks you will find out how it is very physically addictive.
If you can only do it "every so often" thats great. I wish i could only do certain things "every so often".....:sunny:
    Enjoy.

I did take it everyday for 3 months and quit cold turkey with no problems. Some people just dont find it addictive. Just because you g ot addicted to it doesnt mean every single person that tries it will. JMO

hey, Thats interesting. How much were you taking? In what form?.....alright, I just read your post again....i guess if you've quit heroin before....3 months of kratom would not be too hard. It was very hard for me...but that was after 6 years of 30+ leaves a day.
I don't think it's that good for your body organs....but then again nothing is if you do too much of it.
It does have these weird anti-bacterial properties (if thats what you would call it) I never had a full blown cold/ flu for those 6 years....and i was drinking heavy as well.

Yeah guys, no addiction worries here, cause bottleFED and whatshisface said so... Cause they totally just don't want you to to be junkies like them, they're trying to PROTECT you, telling you to take addictive drugs.

Thank you very much, spinfish, i've been wondering about the full addictive potential of this. Seems I don't want to play with it, although as a drug geek, I do find it cool as hell that there's an opiate (and a reasonably strong one) in this plant so different from poppies, while generally they're not common chemicals in the plant kingdom.

Bout the pods... you did WD's once, you an do em again dude... if you ask for help, they'll put you on subs or methadone or something, you don't want that shit, it's trading one dependency for another, just go for it man, sooner the better:( (if you feel that you need chemical help, look int ibogaine, heard people rave about it, it's supposted to be able to seriouly help a lot of people, it's just illegal because they can't make money on it by being legal dealers to keep you out of WD's)

*edit* wikipedia says it stops diaharea cause of fiber... lol... totally NOT the opiates... oh wait...

Look, i just joined this forum cause i'd read a couple of interesting posts on drugs "of my choice"....I was a little high...thought it would be a lovely thing to do...something to tell the grandkids about oneday , that sought of thing.
I had no idea of all the bashing, name calling "i take more drugs than you so i'm a hardcore sex machine, coolness oozes out of me and your a smelly little ping pong ball that can't use a tooth pick without assistance!" shit that goes on here.
I was rambling (first time i'd posted anything in any forum in years...i was excited) and maybe my kratom addition story is a little over dramatic....makes it sound like kratom is harder or as hard as heroin.
The facts are Kratom is alot more harmless compared to things like heroin, methodone..etc..etc..
My addiction was pretty fucking serious for me and the withdrawals i experienced were horrible....but i have never had a full blown heroin or other opiate addiction to compare it too.
The "muscle aches" (not sure if thats what you'd call that feeling of HAVING to move your arms and legs, that i get from all opiate withdrawals...if you know it, it's horrible especially when it's 3am and you havent slept for 4 nights) were worse at night.....through the day i just felt fucked.
Kratom is physically addicve eat 20 leaves everyday for a few weeks than stop and your body and mind will be yelling "Hey mate, wheres the leaves!? it's time for leaves! time for leaves!"
I'm babbling shit again....everything i have typed is true.... If you eat 30 a day for 6 year than stop suddenly you will be uncomfortable to say the least.
Thanks for reading....thanks for posting....keep smiling and ....bye for now!

Oh...had another poppy seed tea(people may think i am a pussy...i dont care), re-read the thread...had a better think. yes Ill Bill you are right, it is nothing compared to other opiates. I think one of the reasons i got so hooked on it was i had trees of it growing near me...i had 3 different shops that would sell it to me ($3 for 100 leaves) ...I have no idea where to even get a sample back here. And i had zero self control- As I said my mate was addicted too, but managed to keep in to under 10 leaves a day. His withdrawals were nothing to write home about....just aches and couldn't sleep for 10 days. Sorry for being so overly dramatic in my story...but it is true what i said. However RooR, it is not something to be feared. In fact I could see how it could be useful helping with the w/drawals of harder opiates (i've heard of this).
It is a pleasant drug. It is great for the prevention and treatment of the common cold and who knows what else. Just don't eat 50 leaves a day and you'll be right.! ...In fact , I wish i hd some now....it was quite nice. It use to make me hypo too. Those were the days.

I used Kratom once or twice a day for almost 2 months, I stopped b/c I ran out. The only withdrawal I had was a slight head ache for a day or two. This might have been b/c i didn't want to do it anymore, maybe b/c i don't have an addictive personality, or simply b/c it's not addictive.. I'm not sure, but I do know if it was poppy tea I was taking twice a day I would be sick as a dog.

I was using the kratom as a substitute for the poppy tea, which I use for a sleep aid. For me kratom didn't fit the bill, although I would fall asleep easily on it, the effects would ware off in the middle of the night. Due to this I would wake up bc of its semi stimulating effects at low doses, so i would either redose or wait and fall asleep eventually. It also produced a "hangover" the next day, nothing much just a head ache.

Who cares man? Different people like different things. I didn't even bother reading all 5 pages, but I'm assuming it was just that 5 pages of arguing. Opiates have there place and so do psychedelics. Just because you prefer one over the other doesn't mean what you like is vastly superior for everyone. It also doesn't mean that people who like different things than you are wrong or unintelligent.

Personally, I wouldn't want to be doing either one too frequently. I like to mix it up. Sometimes stims are nice, sometimes opiates, sometimes I like to trip, and sometimes I even like to be sober *gasp*.

To answer your question though, anything that's stimulating the opioid receptors is going to have some addictive qualities. Tolerance usually drops (for me) after a couple weeks of abstinence. The longer you abstain the more your tolerance drops. I never really get back down to where I was before that first time, but I think that's because once you experience a certain level of high anything less is just that, less.

I concur...kratom's hangover...especially if eating alot late at night or right before sleeping makes one very drowsy in the morning.... difficult to get out of bed... eating more first thing when yoiu get up is better than coffee.
I wish I had some now because I am drinking poppy seed tea everyday for 6 weeks and have a pretty big habit. I have to cut. down...it's too expensive.
