Some learners came to Holiness Ayeshah, the very learned wife of Holy Prophet, to know about the ways of Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him and his beloveds). She said, " Kaanaa Kholoqohul Quran ". Translation of this Arabic phrase is "His morals were (picture of) Quran "..... In other words, all virtues mentioned in the Holy Quran were practiced by him.

One of the quality of righteous people mentioned in Quran is virtue of forgiveness. For example:

    (1) …and those who suppress anger and forgive people and Allah loves those who do good. (chapter 3: verse 136 partial)

    (2) Take hold of forgiveness, and ask to do such virtuous actions which are in harmony with unsullied human nature, and turn away from the ignorant. (chapter 7: verse 200)

Few incidences of Holy Prophet's forgiveness are being presented here.

(a)...Once, the Holy Prophet (p.b.A.h) was resting during a hot weather journey break. An opponent raised sword and woke him up and asked, “ Who can save you now? ” . The Holy Prophet replied with calm and confidence, “Allah”. The awe of these words was such that hand of the person trembled and sword fell down. The Prophet seized the sword and asked that who could then save him? The man humbly requested for pardon and the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him) forgave him.

(b)...The Prophet decided to migrate to Medina under divine decree when people of Mecca decided to kill him because of his message of Unity of God, morals and human rights. The enemy announced huge prize as head money. During the process of Prophet’s migration a man named Suraqah chased him. But his horse fell each time whenever he tried to follow. He correctly took it as a divine sign in favour of Holy Prophet. He called the Prophet from distant and asked for forgiveness and protection in future. He was granted so and additionally he was given a gladtiding which came true latter.

(c)...People of Taif answered his delivery of message of Unity of God with stone throwing and persecution. The Holy Prophet was bleeding and he took refuge in a grape garden. He was divinely given a choice of prayer against the persecutors...He prayed for their forgiveness.

(d)...To forgive the life long persecutors on the day when Mecca peacefully fell was the acme of moral of forgiveness of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be on him). Their heads were down. They knew that they had exercised all possible forms of persecution over the years against the Holy Prophet and his then-powerless followers. But on that Day, they were at full mercy of the Prophet. He said: "No blame on you this day".

May that spirit of forgiveness is always practiced by faithful.

Rather a unique thread on HF - at least to me. It seems to be a bit in legalistic phraseology though. Most people will ignore it. Kind of like me quoting Deuteronomy from the King James version of the Bible. Probably be taken more seriously if spoke in conversational English.
Shalom, Peace Brother, Christ Blessing on you.

    Peace be on you!

The fanaticism in some parts of the world is being practiced on the name of God. Faith is being used as easy platform to further vested earthly interests. That is why it seems important to highlight and remember the teachings of peace. Reformation was promised by Allah and by the Holy Prophet in such latter days time (a long era).

    Regards.
