The stand is by far his best. And of course his early stuff, Salems Lot, The Shining, and Pet Cemetary. A lesser known one, The Talisman, is amazing. I'm about to start the sequal, Black House.
I just finished Under The Dome as well, it was pretty damn good but I didn't really like the ending.

    We meet again --
I'm reading "Under the Dome" now. I'm like 350 pages into it so I'll let you know. Favorite? So many good ones. Probably "Pet Cemetery". Kept me on the edge of my seat. Cujo was cool as was Salem's Lot.
He churns out some a lot of books doesn't he. He's a writing fool. He must work at it 16 - 18 hours a day.

Yeah not to ruin it for ddoright the end of under the dome didnt capture the edge of seat atmosphere of the rest of the book. I completely loved Duma Key. It will always haunt me so if you havent read it try it i think its even better than under the dome. I havent read IT or The Stand but i seen the tv shows an loved them. I remember as a wee lad my da fell asleep on the chair before takin me up to bed and Salems Lot was on!:) Its an experience i'm still attending conselling for; he did the same thing one Halloween nite when I was about 7 when Halloween was on and it remains 1 of my favourite films of all time!!

Under the Dome was an interesting read. What a strange concept but I enjoyed it.

Just finished Duma Key - loved it. Now I'm reading Insommnia. I find Stephen King so descriptive, his writing conjures pictures in my mind, and I see the locations and characters to the point I hear their voices. One can only wonder where he gets his ideas.

Apparently when he was a child he had a baby sitter who locked him in the pantry until the parents came home.

I definitely liked The Stand the best. I read that book in 7th grade when I was twelve years old and it completely blew my mind. I read it again last year right before traveling to New York. I'll tell you what, it definitely made traveling through those tunnels a lot more unsettling than it should have been!

I've been trying to read the Gunslinger books, but I can't seem to finish the second one without losing the book long enough that I feel like I need to start over. The first one was really good though.

I'm a big fan of the dark tower series. I just read one of his older ones, Rage, and enjoyed it, along with Rose Madder which could've been better. Right now I'm reading the last book in the Dark Tower series, and not liking it as much as the others so far.

Salems Lot, The Stand, The Long Walk, Insomnia (if you could survive the first 180 pages) The tommyknockers. I own the book IT but i haven't got around to it since it is a damn tomb.

Am I enjoying "IT"? Yes - it's (or IT is) really creepy. I layed it down for a while which kind of breaks the mood but I'm getting back into it again. The group has gotten back together and (is it Bev?) just went to her old home and saw Pennywise.

DESPERATION is a good one and I would recommend it, and it's sister book, the Regulators.
