Peace be upon you. Spending for physical and spiritual strengthening of fellows is a virtue. Such spending earns pleasure of Allah. The Holy Quran mentions (beginning of chapter 2) the properties of Muttaqeen (the righteous). One quality of them is they spend from what Allah gives them. Spending for the sake of Allah is sacrifice and it maybe of intellect, physical or wealth. The purpose is to impart benefits to creation of God. Faith strengthens when one receives the blessing of Allah as a result of sacrifice. Faithful do not spend for showing off their wealth or as a favour to some person but they rather seek the pleasure of God by supporting the weak and by helping Community and faith, says Ahmadiyya Caliph (w.alislam.org)….. Transfer of goodness uplifts those who are deprived. The offerings of the rich and poor believers as virtuous spending will make the planet like the fertile garden of bliss.
