The Earth's Magnetic Pole is shifting gradually in the direction of Russia at the rate of 25 miles per year. This continuing shift is requiring airports to change the signage on their runways to match the ever changing magnetic pole location.

Some say the magnetic poles are weakening as well as moving, presaging a major shift in the alignment of the magnetic poles. Historically it's been revealed that pole shifts happen within a matter of years, like within a decade, so we may be witnessing the beginning of a major shift. No one is sure what will happen besides compasses getting messed up...but many are speculating...

Maybe that is why the Black birds, the drum fish, and other birds falling from the sky in Sweden are happening. When ever a magnetic field is disrupted, that also affect and effects the elements, the consequences are as weird as they are self explanatory. "?"

That's a really good point, considering that they are supposed to have shifted slightly on Dec 31. :)

Im pretty sure its a gradual shift...there hasnt been a sudden shift

its been shifting probably since Earth began

Much interpretation hinges on how you define sudden. 40km per year blows the doors off most glaciers.

Id say "sudden" would be anything more than the normal daily or yearly average

It says here that the average has been 10 km per year and lately it has accelerated to 40...

since the discovery of the compass the poles have been shifting. I can imagine many early sea goes tossing the compass overboard and relying on stars... speaking of stars , there is one over yonder about 94 million miles away, I wonder if it has anything to do with it.. :D

Some theories say that at least 3 dramatic ones have happened before....at the rate of thousands of miles a second...

Noahs floods some sources say was actually a pole shift

    The red sea parting...

and one of the reasons woolly mammoths were found frozen in ice with vegetation still in their mouth

Im pretty sure they were shifting even before the compass was discovered :afro:

only the wacky tools of magicians make them noticeable.. and then they force ideas into the weak minded sea goer, into being fearful of the movement .. "Youll get lost out there!!!".. "here buy this GPS".. ;)

ferro-magnetic elements include iron, nickel, cobalt, and the lanthanide group composed of 15 rare earth elements. diamagnetic materials create a magnetic field opposing that of an externally applied magnetic field. these include, but are not limited to, bismuth, carbon, copper, lead, mercury, silver, and water.

Well- now that the poles are shifting more rapidly he will have to recalibrate the time machine.... won't he? :conehead:

no..Chuck will just kick Mother Earth in the face

that airport should make the signs one step off in the other direction so the signs last twice as long

Great... starting more earthquakes just when things are really destabilizing... He should be out rescuing defenseless terrorists from roving hordes of rogue infants with their brass teething knuckles and tricked out tricycles. Strange things are precipitated by pole shifts... strange things indeed.

According to this site the pole is moving at 40 miles per year... or 64 kilometers.

They also say the strength of the magnetic field is in decline. I wonder if the government/corporate alliance is thinking how they can spin this into a crisis so that it can be exploited.
