I feel that way about all genres of Metal. I've been through all of them lol and well I was obsessed to say the very least!!! I've grown up a bit and I can honestly, though sadly, say that I have been there and done that about Metal. I mean, it's mostly boys that like it anyway because they like the antisocial lyrics and they find that kind of 'trying to be scary but actually being laughed at' thing cool. (though they probably do not realize or do but refuse to admit to themselves the latter part of that.) Anyway I have since that phase moved onto hippie music, all the psychedelic stuff, and onto Dark Psychedelic Trance. Some really beautiful stuff that takes you to another world. Heavy Metal honestly, in my opinion, keeps you bogged down to the earth and to worldly things and it keeps you hateful and angry (whether or not obviously). Peace out, dudes!
Go back to your hacky sack circle and listen to Phish some more you fag. Next time I see a hippie I'm gonna spit in his face just because of you.
I agree, but it's the same with psychedelic music. We get it, "look at all the beautiful colours blah blah blah" All genres are satiated- there's only those who write good, unoriginal music and those who write bad, unoriginal music.
Um, no. I disagree. It's not even about being unoriginal. And no music is bad, it is just that us humans like to separate it as if silly putty, but glob 1 and glob 2 are made of the same thing
People don't understand genre. It's just a description like "that thing's a chair." I like quality furniture and quality metal of any source; I don't think all music can be quality because some genres (techno, hip-hop) are predicated on moronic standards.
I didn't expect you to agree. But sadly I am not wrong, things are bad, things are good you just have to account for personal taste, i'm afraid. In my opinion, plenty of music is bad. If you disagree, that's okay- I always wondered who bought those god awful Nickelback records.
Fed up with all genres except metal really Am kind of a bit over death metal, if they can play really good then all the extra theatrics are not necessary. But mainstream music is really in the toilet nowadays, so thank god for metal
Yes, power metal is a good example for me I used to indulge in but can't hold my attention anymore. I'm still in the mood sometimes for a couple of my fav tunes but I really can't be bothered nowadays to check out new bands and albums. Other genres are also slightly less interesting, I guess my taste spread to other kinds of music too much, but I still enjoy new black and folk metal every now and then.
There's too much metal now, and not enough good metal, so people get exhausted trying to filter through the shit.
That's not the main reason, the main reason is really that I feel like I've "been there done that" with this particular metalgenre. I always was critical and selective so I've no problem with ignoring most metal releases. I'm only interested in a few subgenres anyway. I think there's enough good metal, got no complains (perhaps because I leave the uninteresting stuff just be? just a thought... )
