No surprise really but still pretty f'd up. I'm not all that familiar with Vonnegut's work, I read a few Chuck Palahinuk books and one of the reviews or something said a modern day Vonnegut. Don't know any of his books or what type of author he was though.
this really is not on, lack of respect for someone who has died is really not good (unless they are a mass-murderer or something)
people continue to graduated college to work in journalism... I wish the fucking industry would go the way of the american steel mills.. really, no really .. Paying a piece of shit to speak is just not economically sound anymore in this society.. Really STFU!! Id rather people report me the news that are not getting a sizable income to do so.. I find a major lack in humanity with the media trolls chuckling on others suffering while driving sports cars living it up with the elite ..
Kurt was an extraordinary writer! He was acknowledged amongst academics as being one of the foremost post-modernistic thinkers! Slaughterhouse 5, and its moralistic implications, would probably never have happened, had it not been for his eye witness observation of the Dresden fire storm! He lived through it and tried to make some kind of sense out of it all! Me and Slim (my dug) applaud him!
Count me among Vonnegut's fans too. He's one of the writers that helped teach me to look at the world sideways and see stuff I'd missed before.
That drives me nuts too...Vonnegut received a lot of very harsh criticism in his writing career, however, the truest of writers always appreciate his work due to his skewed view on society and how he utilizes social and media problems into his novels. He is one of my favorites, not because of the story lines, but because of his style of incorporating the problems of society into all of his novels. Fox news could bash them all they want, in my opinion...they just don't know good literature! Their loss...
