It's an arbitrary date on the gregorian calendar that people use as an excuse to intoxicate themselves with liqour and set off stupid fireworks that wake you up at 2am in the morning. It's bad enough everyone celebrating Christmas when most of us don't even live a Christian lifestyle. Of course in real life I pretend to enjoy it. I probably have aspergers or my mum dropped me on my head too much as a baby. /Rant over.
It is an excuse to get liquored up in my book. I don't have many of those excuses, and my work gives us TWO days every year to party. I took advantage.
the moment is immeasurably small. almost non-existent. i can go to bed early, wake up rested without a hangover, and celebrate in the morning by taking a whizz out my bedroom window.
I don't stay up for midnight or make resolutions...but, some people feel that the new year is a fresh chance at something. A new start.
At the risk of being cynical ?!?!? A (nother) case of commercialism and opportunity for advotes of just causes to be labelled as spoilsports as bodies throw this veil over the cracks of their sins against people and places ?? -> Or is it - just me then? < Peace + Love ~ Save the Planet > eace:
