HA! I'm in Leamington right now. It is a great place because it is considered one of the hottest places in Canada. We have many greenhouses around here.
In Calgary, I grow veggies in pots, mainly so that when there is a frost, I can bring them inside the house to prevent freezing. Also I put them on my deck or the deer eat them!
yes i read the most greenhouses in north america,im in windsor,so very close and have seen them all to,do they grow stuff like kale, collard greens ,brocolli, etc in these greenhouses or is it mostly tomatoes.I luv leamington.DO they have workers in these greenhouses all year round.peace
what kinds of vegetables are you growing in the pots.ive herd about this,i used to live in calgary few years back(mt.royal)but just so expensive for land there now, lol.
holland marsh has the most sought after farmland in ontario..you pass through it going up the 400 to barrie
As far as I know it is mainly tomatoes and cucumbers, possibly peppers, and mushrooms. They do have workers in them all year round as more migrant workers are getting long-term work visas.
On the west coast you get three growing seasons. Lettuce actually grows all year. It gets bitter, but it's good for seed saving.
