do you believe in Karma? I do. my step dad treated my mom and me like shit this last year he was so cocky thinking he was going to get all this money then things fell apart for him and it didn't happened he treated us like shit. it's all about how you treat people.. he got this contract and mad some money. then he blew it all. so we "thought" he says he did not blow all this money he mad. he said he has some down in Detroit. with account with steve. why didn't Steve just bring a check down when he came for a visit? and why did my mom have to leave him money when we went to Vegas? If he had all this money? he's not even looking for a job. he sits on his ass playing backgammon and drinking his brandy and craking up the music. he dose not support my mom in any way anytime he get's in money trouble. his mom bails him out. he 50 years old and is taking money from his mother
Only if you don't understand Karma. If I had a nickel for everyone that thought Karma was a 'good vs bad' justice system, I'd be rich.
I don't believe in karma. I think if you treat someone badly, it is only a matter of time before people will behave in that same way towards you.
all karma is is consciousness. if beleive in karma, if you do something bad, and something bad happens to you, you remember the time you did something bad, so you associate your negative actions, with the negative actions that happen to you. dispite what you did in the past good or bad, that bad thing would still happen to you. its just your "guilt" that makes you associate the past with the present. when you do something good, you feel proud, accomplished, sucessful, and so you remember it. and when something good happens to you, your like well it must have been because i did that! all karma is, is a way to make someone more conscious of the actions they make in the present, so they dont get i a bad situation anyways. dispite karma. if you burn yourself its not because you dident buy your mom a christmas present, its because you touched the hotstove. if you wrecked your car because you keyd someones car. then ur an assfuck and stop keying fucking peoples car and get a life asshole. lol jk. but karma. what you do in your past will effect your future. because every action has a reaction. you rob a store, you go to jail. ect. you put yourself in all the situations. you can only tell your future by your past. You and I can change the world; The more we live, the more we learn, the more we know. From this moment on we share the world; The more we give, the more we love, the more we grow. The spirit of imagination can lead us through the dark; The more we see, the more we try, the more we show. The evidence of our confusion, life has left its mark; The more we fear, the more we lie, the more we hide. As we walk into tomorrow (Turning away from the path we know) Holding the future with our hands (We carry the weight of the world we go) It's up to you and I -- We hold the key; we hold the answers All our thoughts of doubt and fear are leaving one by one The more we live, the more we learn, the more we know. For each of us the road is clear and life has just begun; The more we give, the more we love, the more we grow. It's time to reach the goals we've set for ourselves; The more we fear, the more we lie, the more we hide. All we need is just to believe in ourselves; We face the truth, we see it clear, with no disguise. Cast away our doubt and sorrow (Turning away from the past we know) The Universe at our command (Conserving the fate of the world we grow) Together you and I, we hold the key to all the answers Let go Let go Let go Let go yes
wheres the karma for hitler? I mean yeah he had medical issues toward the end but killed himself with the most easist painless way. Where karma then? or is he going to be born something terrible in his "next" life?
this is by far the stupid example of karma. I think what your talking about here is called Judicial System.
I didn't get the impression that he was necessarily advocating karma, but maybe he was. I felt he was simply explaining his opinion on it. Anyways, karma is one of the multitude of ways to be here now in the moment, by increasing your awareness of the potential consequences of all your actions. Karma is a nice idea, and it can serve as a good way to guide your thoughts and actions, but when you do good things only to avoid anything bad happening to you or to gain some sort of reward, then you're missing the point. To me, karma is just another way to say "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you". Life is too complicated to think that things will "always balance out"...sometimes good people suffer and bad people prosper.
Almost every person here is wrong, I think a couple may have been right though, I just looked over all the hilariously wrong posts. Go to the Buddhist forum and check out what Karma actually is, ever since I did a year ago things have changed. BTW: Has anyone ever noticed that when people say they believe in Karma they don't even know what it is? Well it happens most of the time anyway... I've basically rented out my whole libraries stock on books about Buddhism over the year and now that I'm starting to learn more I find it laughable when others who are uneducated about the subject start to speak about it.... Not that it's funny.... It's sad.
You know karma is not unique to Buddhism right? That being said, I've never found karma especially interesting, so I am not particularly educated with the subject, but I'd be interested to see your thoughts from what you've researched.
I don't believe in karma. We only seem to receive it when we think we deserve it, and it only happens to someone in a negative context when we feel they deserve it. It's the ego's name for coincidental justice being served.
.....SOMEONE CALL CNN!!! I just said I've been doing all this research, what would make you think I'd miss that huge part of it?
This thread is starting to hurt my brain with all the definitions of Karma we're getting.... Doesn't anyone read anymore? Oh my god.....
