some of my friends say that being a hippie is only about doing drugs and that i'm a wanna be cause i don't smoke weed that often what should i say to them?
Being a hippie isn't about doing drugs. I've always looked at it as a state of mind, a way of living your life. If they think they're hippies just because they do drugs, maybe they're the wannabe's
Not another one of these fucking threads. Tell them it's an accessory not a necessity. How old are you anyway? Stay Brown, Rev J
Tell them that being a Hippy is not a matter of doing drugs. Because it's not. It's a matter of just being yourself. If you don't want to do drugs, don't do them! And you'll have my praise! Live for yourself. Satisfy yourself. Be at peace with yourself and nature. Love your mother and father and any siblings you may have. When you have any friends that advertise/support getting you on drugs, then they certainly aren't any true friends I'd care to be around. Just be yourself and you'll be ok!
Is this never going to go away! Be who you are, it's how you live your life, what you think and feel. Its a way of life not a way of acting.
Yep. And look what he did while in office. If I had interns I'd at least make sure that they would be not only pretty damn good looking but could also keep a secret. If she can rat on giving him a blow job, what else does she snitch on? I bet she's still a kid. I understand the complexities of being a kid. Hell I was once. I think? Hmmm. Anyhow, asking people she doesn't even know about how to be? WTF happened to parents? No parents (which can happen)? Find an adult in her area that she can trust. VG, JC, guys we're always gonna have this. No end. So long as there are kids we'll be under siege by kids that want to know. BeatlesChick, one problem we have is kids come here looking to "the answer", not realizing that "the answer" is really just a matter of growing up. You won't come here and find Utopia. Heaven. Paradise. Or whatever it is you are searching for. And when kids realize that we're just abnormal people plagued with living in a normal world (?), they leave. So don't leave. Stay. Talk, communicate, be part of us before judging us. Ok?
You say look man, its your right to smoke a lot of pot just as it is for me to choose to only toke every so often. I don't put these demands and mind games on your trip so dont do it to mine. I leave you to be free and on your own thing, so please allow me to do mine.
Lolzzz, Are you serious? 2010 minus 1995, I'm guessing she's 15/16 Du'h I could be wrong, maybe 95 was the year she discovered the Beatles or whatever but its enough to warrant not risking embarrassment by asking how old she is So I dont know how much she's going to value the advice of those that didnt pick that up, or maybe its a lesson in itself "BeatlesChic, this is why you should stay away from drugs, you'll lose the power of deductive reasoning"
Sorry for the gruffness of my original response. This same type of post comes up about every 2 months. I understand the need for open dialog. I was a 15 year old once too. Granted when I was 15 I had people smoking pot in front of me since I was 5. I also had seen hippies of all stripes some smoked pot some didn't. I always knew there was more to it than that. So after answering the same question over and over I got a little gruff. Stay Brown, Rev J
Instead, you just combat them by comparing to steriotypes they are familiar with. Per-say, if your friend considers themselves an emo, but never actually harms their body, you could easily say that she isn't a proper 'emo' because she doesn't harm herself. I'm not saying to use exactly that, but it's an example. Just because you don't fit all the criteria in a steriotype doesn't make you not something. Better yet, why bother trying to fall into a steriotype ? Just be yourself.
