Buy all our talent, have no farm system? so where did Mariano Rivera, Jorge Posada, Andy Pettitte, Derek Jeter come from? Last time I looked it was them that were the bedrock of our last 5 championships more than any expensive free agent signings. Robinson Cano, Phil Hughes, Brett Gardner an hopefully from next season, if we dont trade him, Jesus Montero, so enough of this myth we have no farm system. Its pathetic how bitter some people are. Yes we spend a lot of money, so what, we do live in a free market economy right? Why shouldnt we spend what we earn? I do wish we hadnt given so much money to that steroid cheat though. It happens. It's their rich history and being located in the #1 media market. Of course they have the money! I've been a Yankees fan since 1981 and have lived in New England all my life. The Mets have been around for 48 years and only have 2 world championships (107 years for the Yankees and 27 world championships). They're seen as the third wheel here, behind the Yankees and Red Sox. It's the same with the NFL, with the Jets as the #3 team behind the Giants and Patriots. Many call it Yankee fatigue. Believe me, I've heard much worse. OK...time for me to get back and "enjoy" the early stages of our blizzard.
