So what happends to the mind. When the computers give us more information than we the homosepians can't hold and until we put the puzzle together. what will happend to the world of reality as we know it economics and such? What if a robot aka computer decides not to do its job will indivual minds became one once again? With out just seein profits or numbers.

Are you thinking of artificial intelligence...? if so i think we are going to create something we didn't plan on. That usually seems to be the case.

Last week a leading researcher in the field of computer science was interviewed on the science channel; he was attempting to create AI and described the moment in which machines begin to think for themselves as a singularity :computer:

This singularity will expand and trigger off the chain reaction and computers will begin to create and program other computers. during those moments (a billionth of a second) the fate of mankind will rest in the hands of the machines

What fascinates me is the notion that we may have already passed that singularity. It's based on moore's law, that computing power is doubled about every eighteen months. Logically, it will advance to the point where it will be possible to "compute" the entire universe, and more. So the question that been stuck in my head is this: how do we know that we aren't already involved in one of these simulations, wrapped up inside of some cosmic computer? Maybe this computers exact job is to "compute" every possible configuration of matter and energy.

Would that fit the definition of "God?"

Also, this scenario is closer than most people think, I wouldn't be surprised if it would happen within the next 100 yeArs.

    Look into quantum computers.

people can use computers to organize in herds .. like they are currently doing..

Yeah that's what I mean from what I been reading. If you compare the human brain and mind to the computer way of braking things down its so similar to ours. So in that case what will happend when machines get freewill and freedom of speech idk guys think of problems that we didn't think of 50 years ago when one computer control all of them. REVOLUTION OF ThE MIND...

Because I doubt the human brain is not capable of beating a machine at the momment that's why. We created it but can we stop it?

Imagine "uploading your consciousness". Arguably, what makes you YOU is the series of neural connections in your brain. If a replica of your brain was computerized, would that result in the emergence of a conscious being? People argue that computers cannot be conscious or have true intelligence because they are a binary system of 1's and 0's but I think they're looking past the physiological truth that all our conscious selves are is system of electrical pulses.

Are you talking about on a collective scale chr1stian?

Because on the individual scale there is already more information than the mind can hold, in fact that's part of the reason the Internet is so useful you can store various useful information you can pull up at the click of a mouse you can't store in your head. You only have a ~1200-1900 hundred cranial capacity, so you can only store so much information. Your brain filters information on what it deems necessary and useful and discards or suppressess the rest.

So really nothing new will happen to the human mind unless we start getting chips or something else put in our brain that allows for 'downloads.' Possibly higher rates of depression and some other cognitive problems may result from an overstimulation to information/technology but I can't see anything else happening beyond that really unless we alter our brains via technology.

Artificial life is an interesting topic but I don't have much to add.

You do realize, if it does become self aware. It falls in love with Justin Bieber and shorts out.. or its a windows operating system and its destined to crash anyways. ..
