What city do you think is the most tolerant of the whole marijuana culture? Tolerance of possesion (cops), publicity, ease of purchasing, yadayadaya..... Personally I would say Boulder or Denver....but idk, thats mostly because I lived in Colorado. What are your thoughts or experiences? Yeah, I know about webehigh.com
Arcata, CA. I've lived in CO my whole life and it doesn't even come close to Arcata. You can't walk down the street without getting offered some. People just stand around and smoke bowls like they're cigarettes. And it's dirt cheap. $25 an 8th at most. Goes without saying that quality is unbelievable. Lotsa good hash too. Man I miss that place. I'd leave CO in a second to go back there. I'd venture to say that cannabis use is more accepted and tolerated there than in Amsterdam.
I toured with various bands and events for years and have been to and spent time in pretty much every large city in the US. You pretty much have to divide this list by Cali. and everywhere else, it's just a diffrent world out there. Out side of Cali. I would say Burlington VT. If you are talking big cities Boston is by far the most tolerent, but tough to score in if you don't know people. It's Fairly easy to hook up in NYC but prices are high.
i've never had a problem with cops.. or problems getting bud.. and i live in a little river city along the ol miss
No doubt, San Francisco wins this one. I was at the recent High Times Cup held there, and unlike the ones in Amsterdam, this one had a prop 215 area not just for smoking, but for vending too. Many kilos changed hands that weekend. And with the Haight-Ashbury/Golden Gate Park/Hippie Hill thing SF is hard to beat! During the World Series, people were lighting up and the media was reporting on it. Even the Giant's star pitcher smokes ganja! And now here in Cali we have Governor Moonbeam coming back with extremely liberal SF Mayor Gavin Newsom as his Lieutenant Governor, and new democratic Attorney General (who's supposed to be kynd to mj) we can expect more easing of cannabis laws in the state. And look at that line-up folks! We took back the governorship from the Republicans. California leads the country, and so you can expect the next presidential election to be like California, when the liberals come out again to grab the Congress back from the Repubs. And if Obama can accomplish more liberal goals in the next two years, he might even get relected... So long as he stops kowtowing to the Republicans. I think the liberals laid it on the line for him. Either he acts on our behalf or he won't get relected.
My vote is for New Orleans - not just for tolerating weed, but for every vice you can think of. All the cops have been bought off. On the other hand, Asheville NC is the only place I have ever seen a guy smoking a j on a downtown sidewalk, in the middle of a sunny afternoon.
Go to Hippie Hill in SF at 4:20 any day and see what's going down... :0) Just be sure to wear a flower in your hair...
There was a knock on my door two days ago. It was the owner of a security company that is next door to me. She said that a few of her employees were complaining about marijuana smell emanating from my property and were wondering if they should call the police. I explained to her that there was an official caregiver growing pot in a room in my house and the room was being exhausted into the crawl space under the house. Every thing is cool. If it were not for medical legislation I might have had a difficulty. I live in Seattle. The police have a stated policy that marijuana offenses are given lowest priority. There is however a considerable amount of redneck immigration to this state and outside of the metropolitan area it pays to be low key on the subject.
I lived on capitol hill for 3 years. Me and my dealer would smoke up on almost every street except broadway. I was paranoid at first, but then i realized just how many people do the same.
Capitol Hill is ground zero as far as alternate lifestyle goes. I came from Kansas City at 14, 1971, and met my first openly gay individual in an apartment building on Capitol Hill. I had never seen flamboyance before.
Don't forget the town big wigs including the police handed out MJ on the courthouse steps after the feds raided some caregivers and/or storefronts in Santa Cruz.
I know it's probably not up your alley of musical tastes, but did you happen to catch a glimpse of the rapper Fresco Clean? He's actually from my town and went to my high school, only graduated a few years before me too. Wish I could have smoked with him before he started gettin bigger in the battle rap scene, I'm jealous of a lot of my friends.
