I have no clue on what brand of over the ear headphones to buy. I was looking for something cheap, like below 300 dollars, and high quality. If you have any preferred brands or models, please help me out. Also, has anyone heard of Siege 11 headphones? I have heard they are very good, and for 70 bucks they are very tempting.

I have a pair of the Bose AE2 headphones. Cost $150. Best set of headphones I ever owned.

bose is the biggest gimmick ever. anybody who knows anything about sound quality will tell you the same thing.

tubahead is right on the money. I go to head-fi.org for all my headphone needs.

welcome to the wonderful world of headphones!

I would recommend a pair of audio technica (about 100 for the ath-es7, or the ath-es9 are a little nicer, about 200), they make pretty good stuff from what i understand.

I currently use the Audio Technica M-50 with the total bit head amp with my ipod which has rock box installed. The M-50 is a good set of cans for the money, about $150. The bass can be a bit much at times but some people are into that sort of thing. I would like to get some AKG K 702 headphones paired up with the Little Dot MK II.

Ideally someday I would have the Sennheiser HD 800's with the serious Woo amplifier.

Some of their stuff is, such as that wave radio, but when it comes to speakers and headphones, they are up there with the best. Wish I still had my 901 speakers, but they got stolen long ago.

They do make good speakers and headphones, they are just way over priced. You can get just as good sound quality from headphones that are half as much. I used to use the bose noise canceling headphones for quite a while. After I started listening to some others that cost less than half of what the bose cost, I decided to switch.

The amplification you use can also have a big impact on the sound of the headphones.

also way overpriced. I would stick with a company who actually has a history making electronics, and even better, headphones.

I want a little dot : ) Tuba is right, a quality portable headphone amp will make a world of difference.

If you are willing to throw down 200-250 bucks on headphones, you should shell out an additional hundred to get both an amp and a decent pair of headphones (phones for 100-150, amp for another hundred or more for a good one)

again, head-fi.org would be the place to go. they have all kinds of info on comparisons, reviews, amps, etc. be careful though, do some research on there and you just might give yourself an excuse to throw down a couple grand on headphones :)

If 300 dollars is your limit, then you have a HUGE array of shit to choose from

However, I usually opt for the 15-20 dollar KOSS brand Full size ones.
