Lottery Tickets

Well today I'm 18 (hold the applause).

My parents got me a lottery ticket... I didn't think I was gonna win because my dad always told me that it's just "A tax or the dumb" or something like that.

My mom buys them sometimes though... Anyway I read the instructions and I started scratching..... I won 50 fucking dollars. I was like "HOLY SHIT I WON!!!"

I went to the store and the guy was like "Is it your birthday?" and I said "yes sir, yes it it". He said happy birthday but then he went into a speech about how lottery tickets are a waste. He said that it was a bad thing that I won my first time because now I think I'll always win something. He told me straightforward "you're not going to win anything over $10 for a long time now, just trust me. Please listen to me".

He was being really honest which I liked.. So I bought another ticket and pocketed the $45.

So I scratch the other ticket.. I win $15.. What the fuck? That's another win.... I was at my girlfriends house at this point and then when I left a little bit ago I went to a store and cashed it in, got the money, and got another ticket.

I just got home like 10 minutes ago and I scratched the ticket... I won $10. Why the fuck do I keep winning? This doesn't make any sense.

I'm gonna spend $10 on tickets and if I lose I'm never gonna play again. Like seriously, 3 wins in one day... If I lose this time I won't even care because it won't even put a dent in my winnings and it will teach me a lesson.

The only time I have ever done the lottery was on my 16th birthday, and I won £25. I was happy with that at the time, until a friend won £300

 

I love winning on scratch offs. I havn't been winning latley. but on my b-day I won over 30 bucks. I was happy, and before my vegas trip I won 20 bucks on a 1 scratch off. and I was on a red white and blue X 5 25 cent machine in vegas and I put a dollar in and hit 150. and on money from mars machine, I put 20 bucks in and I was already up to 200 bucks and I hit over a 1,000

 

That's insane jen, so much money lol.

But I read some stories on the internet and I'm not gonna buy lottery tickets anymore. I'm just gonna spend the last $10 on them and whatever happens, happens.

 

I almost died when the 3 aliens pop up. I said I'm having a heart attack.

 

I know someone who won 5 million...another friend once won over 50,000

I buy a ticket when the jackpot is high but have not won any more than 20$...but thats fine because at least I tend to break even

 

I was scratching my 3rd ticket and two seperate million dollar things came up and I almost had a heart attack because you only need three to win. So I scratched the others without looking but I lost. I was so depressed lol... Kinda made me wanna go get another ticket, and that's why I'm not gonna do it anymore.

 

That's all I try for.... look at me talking like some old lady who plays her tickets like a shark........

 

i buy scratch offs here and there.. sometimes i win like $10 but usually get a $5 and break even.. what i cannot understand are $20 scratch offs... it makes no sense.. im not gonna spend $20 on the chance i may win on one ticket $20 or more

 

Its not lottery tickets I hate, its the people who stand in the fucking line for hours getting 30 different types while I'm just tryna get a god damn dutch or some gas. Maybe its because I'm an impatient dick, but I despise those people who waste their lives on the lottery.

 

i was going to work today, I suppose the Lottery machine is down at this time the morining only 7:30 or something after 7 idk. but inside the gas station this lady was arguing with the clerk about the lottery machine and it was not on. Shes yelling at him and hes like "what you want me to do its controlled by the state, I can not turn it on" then he made me lol "ONLY IN AMERICA" he said.. that was a winning ticket there ..

 

buying lottery tickets is ok once in a while.but the problem is when ya hit big you keep buying them hoping to hit big again.i hit 1,000,000 on a 5 dollar scratchie.trust me it fucked my life up more than it helped.for a while i was buying tickets by the book.i blew 4,000 on 4 books of 10.00 tickets 1 night and only got back 600 bux.if i ever hit that big again im either gonna rip it up and throw it away or walk up to a homeless dude and give it to him.hoping the homeless guy uses it to make his life better

 

umm.. why not just keep it and learn from previous mistakes

 

i know exactly what i would do with lottery money. how far it will go would depend on the amount. first? land. between 1-10 acres. second? foundation and septic work. third? actual house, already have several home grown designs. then? a barn and fencing. people waste so much money gambling, if everyone who gambled gave me 5 bucks, i could make my dreams come true.

im not a gambler at all. i believe in risk management, and i just cant reconcile it in my brain. id rather have that dollar in my pocket, thanks. ive got big dreams, and they dont come cheap.

 

I heard that they bought 50dollars worth of scratch offs for a party at work and only one person won 2 dollars. Though if I won 25k I wouldnt be telling everyone I work with. "NOPE nuther losing ticket, this sucks!.. "

 

I won $50 once. Bought 50 more tickets. Won $20, bought 20 tickets. Eventually ran out of money. Bad idea.

 

pretty much why i quit gambling. I dont know when the hell to stop.

 

I figured out of 70+ more tickets there'd be another big winner. A couple dollar and $5 winners but thats it. The lady at the store looked pretty concerned for my well being.

 

This is one of the things I forgot to do when i turned 18.
