    I meet someone I like/respect.
I have sex with him thinking he thinks I'm special (perhaps delusional).
He sleeps with another woman a few days later.
Both of us find this is standard behaviour from this "man".
Others believe he is a sexual predator.
    I tend to believe them.
    What else is he into?
He seems to have an aversion to condoms.
    That fucker is a player.
    That's what I'd be thinking.

    It's her show.

I know he slept with two women over 2 or 3 days.
I know both women have spoken to each other.
Others do think he is a sexual predator.
I know he didn't always use condoms.
The rest is what I'd be thinking.

He slept with two women who talked to each other, therefore he is a player?

    You auditioning for Faux News?

We don't know how many women he slept with.
Just from my own perspective, somebody sleeping around llike that is a bit of a player.
If the women knew he slept around perhaps they would not have slept with him.
I'd personally regret it and think the worst of him.
    Rightly or wrongly.

You know I'm fair and balanced.

Wow, you're more impressionable than I thought.

As for the player thing...Odon, have you ever slept with more than one woman, without a condom? I have, they also spoke to each other numerous times. I was with both of them in a matter of a couple weeks. Does that make me a player, or a guy who likes to fuck women?

Think about it. The guy slept with multiple women, that's all he's really "guilty" of. Not everyone wants a relationship, or to be tied down, since when is that a fucking crime?

That could be asked of anyone.

That's just more passive aggressive smear, you're trying to insinuate that he might be into other devious things.

The fact of the matter is that his behaviour has absolutely NOTHING to do with the material he's released. It doesn't matter if he spends his spare time fucking whores and rubbing coconut oil over his nuts, it has nothing to do with his work. End of story!

Were you there when he met these women? I wasn't...

I don't know what he said... perhaps he said, "Hey, you wanna fuck?" and they said yes... That doesn't make him a player, that makes him someone who likes to fuck.

Perhaps these women were approached by a couple of suits who said, "You say he did this, and we'll pay you 10000 in cash"...

The point is that you are making huge assumptions about him, them and all of their motives...

The worst of it is that you are making negative assumptions about the guy, based on rumors and gossip.

I don't know what he said or did with these women...

What I do know, is that he hasn't been charged with anything, he hasn't been tried, and he hasn't been convicted, of anything...

Except of course, in the minds of those that listen and judge based on the bullshit that is being fed to them from the propaganda machine.

It's not what I personally think.
It is what I think they think.
Not over the space of 2-3 days, not even weeks, no.
It makes you slightly irresponsible and in need of going to a STD clinic, tbh.
We don't know the expectations of these women, to be fair.
He could have spun them any old dogs tail.
We know he is good with PR (I hope we can agree on that).
It's what I MIGHT be thinking.
I also said "rightly or wrongly".
    I never said it did.
Oh, so the women are whores and he just likes fucking. Nice.
    Male arrogance me thinks.

    He is good at talking.

No, that was perhaps poor wording on my part. I meant that if he fucks (paid) whores and rubs oil on himself, it doesn't matter and shouldn't be public information.

I was in no way meaning to refer to those two women as whores and I would not refer to them as such, as it would be completely unfair to say.

Julian Assange reminds me of the guy who stood in front of the tank heading for Tianamen Square. And the US gov't reminds me of the Chinese gov't who stopped at nothing to repress democracy and freedom.

It's amazing what ONE PERSON can do to stand up to repression. Let's not forget Gandhi too...

That's just it Skip... Gandhi didn't do it alone... A lot of people stood up alongside and behind him... and things DID change.

The guy in Tianamen... a few stood with him... they all got cut down and china remains pretty much the same.

The only question with Julian is, do a few stand with him to get cut down, or do many stand and have an effect?

Good points Tom. Of course Julian doesn't stand alone. He has a group of talented people behind him, plus the support of ppl around the world, and not just hackers, but celebrities, liberals and free speech advocates.

But when it comes to capturing the imagination and inspiring people, sometimes it only takes ONE PERSON to make a difference.

BTW, I've merged the various Assange/Wikileaks threads into one now.

UPDATE 12/17: Australian Prime Minister says neither Wikileaks nor Julian Assange have broken any Australian laws.
    http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/12/17/wikileaks-australia-law-n_n_798105.html

This is very good news. It might mean Julian can return to Australia if he wants without worrying about extradition. It also implies that Julian and Wikileaks haven't violated any US laws too since both the US and Australia have similar espionage laws (I'm assuming, I haven't checked).
