Of course, I'm still the same old jerk I have always been. But, with LSD I could get beyond it and let it go to get to these places of absolute awareness. I can't get there without it. I imagine only a few people alive today live in that state of awareness. And only after decades of a religious discipline.

i think tripping is essentially dreaming as well. I also think our consciousness is more aware while asleep than awake, if that makes sense, therefore tripping can often reveal many things that the psyche would otherwise never realize.

i'm really interested in the role of the pineal gland. thats supposedly our dream center, its where dmt is produced in our body, and i'm sure it has a huge role in any hallucinogenic trip. the last time i tripped mushrooms (i have very limited experience with lsd) I really got the sense that I was not seeing things with my two eyes but with something else; a third eye of sorts. the pineal gland is often described as our third eye. i'm really interested in the possibility of opening the third eye or pineal gland without the aid of psychedelics. or religion.

That's the only way I can successfully use LSD. Succesfully in a sense of me learning. I think its very important to experience as an individual. A true opening for yourself.

Thank you for posting! Who we are is so simple, yet beyond what can be intellectually fathomed. A big part of who we are is simply where we are at and the people around us, literally. Consciously we cannot say something out loud that another is about to say. But a part of us that we aren't conscious/aware of already knows this and everything else going on around us. It's really not that mysterious or esoteric. It's part of each of us. To get there without the help of LSD or some other psychedielic is whole nother bag. I believe many in history and possibly a few alive today are there though.

LSD is one of many chemical compounds that opens up our perception.

Sorry desos, I agree with what writer said previously. Feel you think you know, but still have so much learning to do.

I have to agree with everything you have said here. Whether taking LSD or not, these people will never get beyond superficial perception. Perhaps a really massive dose of the drug MIGHT do it for them. I work with a whole bevy of these folks, it drives me crazy (and I feel sorry for them).

What IS "awareness" or "conciousness"? Just the organization of a bunch of remembered perceptions into a reality? And if so does that really explain your existence? These are the questions I explore with LSD. Psychedelics are an amazing gift, we are so lucky to have these in our lifetimes.

hmm... i don't see what it so funny about that post, infact i see it as a pretty accurate analogy.

just because someone's ideas don't agree with your own, it doesn't make them wrong.

but as for the original question, i think that what describes what lsd does to your awareness the best is that it expands your consciousness.

ive noticed that i am able to remember a lot of my really old dreams CLEARLY when im tripping. Its as if i can piece them all together or something, i feel that the state of your mind when you are tripping is similar to the state it is in when you are asleep
