I don't know about anyone else, but I define a hero as someone who willing puts their life in danger to help others.

I guess by that definition, I'm a hero when I drive the highway 30 miles in an ice storm (last night) to pick up my brother from work.

Julian's got some serious 'nads that's for sure, but I'm not really comfortable with the word "Hero" being bandied about just yet...I think it needs more time.

Well, perhaps with your skills, or lack thereof, it is a highly dangerous thing, but it in no way shape or form is it putting yourself in danger.

Exactly. Though much of what he has done is good, you can't just brush the rest under the carpet. A doctor can't say "oh i save lives everyday, so what if I drink and drive sometimes".

 

If those molestation charges aren't trumped up, then I certainly wouldn't call him a hero.

If they are, I'd still probably go with neither, but he started a movement that needs to be around.

My feelings on it are slightly more complicated. I understand the need for some secrets to be kept, and if the power of information gathering of wikileaks weren't wielded with wisdom, I could see it doing harm as well.
