This foul year of our lord twenty hundred and ten

Wow what a tremendous year of personal psychedelic exploration and growth. So many amazing experiences with the aid of these amazing plants and chemicals. Some highlights of my year, feel free to share yours as well.

Shpongle I's: My 7 year dream to see Shpongle finally came to fruition in the spring with a friend and a fellow hf'er. Took some 2ci and was a very solid choice considering the low key bar feel the venue had. Simon delivered with an amazing setlist and a dazzling array of accompanying computer graphics and dancers.

DMT: An event 8 years in the making for me. I'd read Mckenna, Strassman, Hancock, Pinchbeck, Erowid, Bluelight, and Hip Forums and finally got to experience it first hand. Certainly worth the wait and every experience I've had with it is a completely different journey but there retains a linking narrative between the experiences.

Flipping at Tool: The Aces flip at Tool, Never did I suspect that one day I would be legs crossed, eyes shut, meditating during a metal concert. Amazing seeing the progression of a live band since I had really only seen djs recently and it was my 2nd time seeing Tool. A certain dynamic and spontaneity created by live muscians DJs will never be able to emulate. These guys play so well off one another.

Do it again! Chemical Brothers: Saw the Chemical Brothers for the 2nd time. Took some MDMA and they pretty much do the rest, They're on a different level djing live.

Standout Trips:
-kicking k with cactus: Mescaline is amazing medicine
-DPT: An intense sacramental journey which I knew little about coming into the year. Great discovery!
-Moxy marathon: having sex all day on a highly euphoric psychedelic. :rockon:
-2ct2/2ct7: Really enjoyed my first heavy doses (50 mgs) with this class of phens, was hesitant about ever trying either one but pretty interesting experiences.

 

This was a banner year for me too. I will not be as organized, but I will list the plethora of new substances i got to try:

2CB (Wow!)
Ketamine (Dark, but I still like small doses)
Mescaline (Fucking amazing. This is a 1x/year max for me)
2CE (Uggghh!)
5-meo-MIPT (Wonderful)
5-meo-DMT (Deeply, scarily, spiritual)
4-aco-DMT (I like thus far, but have much more work to do)
DPT (God, I hated snorting it but thought it was interesting. Chemistry continues! I now have a rock-solid procedure for converting HCl to freebase and look forward to continuing future experiments with smoking ROA)

i honestly don't even know where to begin in response to this thread..maybe i'll put some thought into it and respond later

 

hmmm let's see. notable events this year for me:

-got to see furthur for the first time in february, which was a pretty amazing experience for a longtime admirer of grateful dead music and potential deadhead but never having seen them live with jerry. they played some of my favorite songs including mountains of the moon and fire on the mountain.

-joined a commune. wow, communal life. i could write volumes.

-left the commune

-went to bonnaroo (which was kind of a bummer after the amazing experience i had at bonnaroo '09)

-saw crystal castles (TWICE!) (if you havn't heard of them they are fucking amazing.) 'the fate of the world is safe in crystal castles'

-saw deadmau5 at possibly one of the biggest blowout shows i've been to, and got to meet deadmau5 after the show and got him to sign my ticket.

-saw soundtribe sector 9 (and they covered 3 crystal castles songs!! LOL!!!) and went to a massive afterparty dubstep type rave that lasted well into the next day. dubstep rave in the woods. lol. one of the better nights i've ever had.

-saw furthur again.

i was on acid at all of those shows except for the sts9 show. all in all it's been a long year of exploring the possibilities of lsd & communal life & going to shows.

 

Definitely a year very different from all other years.

Ego obliteration from shrooms

2c-t2 - never had the feeling of a screwdriver jammed into my nose but still had a massive grin the whole night

2c-e/2c-t2 - had a fucked up night, 20 doses of 2c-e were stolen from me, the kid snorted 3 later on that night, freaked and gave em back, still grinned the whole night

my dog since '95 died.

This year was very good for me in terms of trying new pyschedelics and great experiences with them. But it has been absolutely terrible for me in every other sense. This will probably go down as my worst year on this planet. But I have planted many seeds to turn things around for next year. I just have to play the waiting game and be patient. I will be ushering in the new year and saying good riddance to this one while watching STS9 on something, I havnt decided yet.

Me too! As early as February I was saying this is the worst year ever. But I feel like things are turning around, or at least have stopped getting worse, so... here's to 2011. I definitely plan to kick 2010 out the fucking door come Dec 31 and welcome 2011 with open loving and hopeful arms.

I branched out this year in psyches. Unfortunately, most of it was during a very dark/negative time and I do believe I was misusing psyches for a while there, and I'm still working on getting over the sour taste I've been left with. This year I've added:

I feel like I'm missing 1 or 2...

But yeah, a lot of darkness & negativity over the year but my 2 trips since my break were amazing and got me off on the right foot to the way of positive and beneficial psychedelic growth.

And yeah, unfortunately, 2010 has been a banner bad year. I try to remain positive, but things are grim and getting grimmer. Financially more difficult with no end or relief in sight, serious body infrastructure issues for the both of us, although in general we are blessed with good health, bankruptcy (we ain't proud - it was a long time coming). Also a horrible year for my husband and I - lots of ugliness and fighting. And the stresses on my brother's family have been unbelievable - being within 8 hours of being forcefully evicted out onto the street by the Sheriff without a functioning vehicle, a 13 year old girl, a 7 year old boy and a 2 year old boy.

Life goes on. We get teeth pulled instead of treated/crowned. We eat cheap garbage (that seems, ironically, to be MAOI rich). We suck up pain that folks with real money or insurance could get treated, we treat ailments at home, we face old age with no prospects for retirement or relief from inflation. Our skills are becoming increasingly obsolete in the work world. Yet I in particular seem to be "overqualified" for lower level work.

And this is just part of the personal stuff. We dare look outside and watch the continuing degradation of our neighborhood into a truly dangerous place of high crime. We dare watch the news or pay attention and the world appears to be spiraling down into environmental degredation as well as more conflicts over fewer resources and a sad kind of "cater to the lowest common denominator" reality TV attitude towards EVERYTHING.

 

2010 was a pretty good year for me.

as far as psychedelics, it looks like i tripped 17 times this year. 8 with LSD, 5 with 2ce, twice with mushrooms, and one each with 4-aco-dmt and salvia. i know...i'm a dork.

started the year out with alternating LSD and 2ce trips. two of the more remember-able ones were when i took 4 hits of white blotter the day after we got about 3 feet of snow. that was one of my more intense LSD trips to date. ...and when i took 19 mg of 2ce and had visuals that overtook my entire field of view for the first time i think. a portion of both trips was spent in the same park.

in april, i took 15 mg 2ce and went bike riding around the city with my brother when he was visiting. this is when i was in the habit of hiding my psychedelic use from my girlfriend, and i didn't tell my brother either. i made a note (on the list i am referencing right now) that i had now consumed a total of 320 mg 2ce since Nov. 2008.

in june, i tried salvia for the 3rd time in my life, and the first time in about 8 years. this time it worked!

as you can see in my sig, i saw Minus the Bear on 17 mg 2ce in july with a buddy. it was an awesome show, and i even shook the lead singer's hand afterward.

i tried 4-aco-dmt for the only time in july. t'was a mild trip with 25 mg of the fumarate salt.

the last day of july, i went camping with my gf and our two friends. we all partook in some hoffman blotters and had a great time. there's a thread dedicated to that somewhere around here.



in the beginning of august, i went to a music festival and introduced my brother to LSD, with the larger half of one of the most potent blotters i've ever had. it was great to show my brother something so amazing, and i even learned a few things from him on this trip.

at that same festival, i got a half ounce of shrooms. i ate an eighth twice, once i lemon teched them. both trips were at my apt. and were WEIRD to say the least. i hadn't had mushrooms for a few years before this. i gave my last eighth to a buddy. looks like that lemon tech was my last trip of 2010, on Oct. 16th.

for the non-psychedelic events in my life...

i got engaged in Sept. <3
in the same park that i do a lot of my tripping.

we got a cat in june. Murray



i got my master's degree in biochemistry in Oct.

and shortly thereafter, i was arrested for disorderly conduct due to a complicated, bullshit situation.


i saw SUBLIME with Rome, in august, and it was the best concert of the summer. i have loved sublime since 6th grade.

and i also saw further (from behind the stage, so i guess i only heard them), but i'm not a big fan.

i got a vaporizer in february
and PiHKAL and TiHKAL, which i have read the majority of.

and finally, i did a hell of a lot of this

Awesome year porkstock41 - you couldn't ask for much better. Murray is so handsome! I am so glad he isn't the reason for the broken slide . . . Here's hoping 2011, 2012 and upcoming years are even better for you, your lady, Murray and anyone else who might come along . . .

i am very careful where i place the bong, because he has pretty much free reign of the entire apartment. as you probably know cats can be. he now can get on top of the fridge, and i even saw him in the food cabinets that got left open and are above the fridge (about 5 or 6 feet from the ground)
hasn't knocked over my bong YET though

The year I finally took the DMT ride (n,n and 5-MeO). 'Nuf said.
