They voted him in based on what he said, now he's explicitly gone back on his promise. What kind of democracy is that? People have a right to be angry. They have no power, no say. They vote politicians in who only try to maintain their social status, with no claim to even try to represent their voters.

 

They use them as cannon fodder as well, so they are disposing of some of them.

 

Call me American, but aside from a possibly kind, nearly ederly couple being harassed, I don't see the big deal. They still made it to the show, right? What purpose DOES the English monarchy serve?

Kids raised to expect a certain level of education under a price their parents paid for look at a pair of parasites and get pissy? Oh lordie! Bring on the cavalry.

 

"cannon fodder" what an odd coincidence in words.. I had used the words together yesterday, pertaining to something else, not every day its used..

And we haven't yet talked about how much the next upcoming royal wedding of Charles' son is going to cost the public. How about some austerity measures implemented for that event.

I mean, what a waste. For what? They couldn't contribute charitably without taxpayer money? Get a fucking job.

 

I've read the only good reason for keeping the monarchy is the fact it actually brings in substantially more in tourism dollars than it costs to upkeep.

I agree that the rich would get rid of the poor except the need for canon fodder, and slaves and of course someone to buy the crap produced to make the slave owners richer.
And for the royals they do seem to be pretty worthless...and they really should keep that wedding small. Or make the couple pay the taxpayers back in a few years when they get a divorce!

Your talking University loans that where 11 year loans to pay back, to now with the cap lifting to over 30+ yeah the news says its "only" going to triple, however fact is even at that rate most of it, is not going back into the schools, the schools are still taking cuts and in many cases the universities are allowed to raise it even further depending on their case, cause now there is no "Cap".

and for a nice slap in the face, to help them rush this thing through, they made sure to vote on a 5 hr debate limitation for the discussion of this...

 

There is no use for royalty in this era. They get no pitty from me.

 

I think they should get rid of the whole monarchy. They just sit around raking in ridiculous amounts of money that could be better spent elsewhere. Like lower tuition fees...

I know it used to be about "royal blood" being better than everyone else's, but we know that's not so.

I don't agree with the fees, but then I don't agree with gratuitous violence either.

 

Sometimes that's the only way to get the rich people to listen. Otherwise they tell you to just eat cake if you don't have any bread...

 

Even Kings have no choice but to agree with a brick in the face.

 

Tuition fees should be handled like how the Germans handle them. They have business 'sponsor' students, like an apprenticeship

here in the UK, a business pays nothing for an undergraduates education and then has the choice of the litter when they get the qualifications. They rightly pick the more able to work, but the fact remains they have the choice and earn specialist skilled workers for nothing.

If they pay nothing, they should get shit. Most businesses pay very little out on training due to it's expense, so that's where our money for fees should be coming from. From the people who really benefit from higher education.
