I want him to pick it out, if she cares enough she will tell you what she likes. Also, when buying an engagement ring, you should be spending 2 months income or more. It depends on your situation! Hope that helps :)

    A quick update

I bought the ring all by myself.
I gave it to her on 12/27
    She said Yes!
She has not stopped looking at it or talking about it since.

I took a bunch of pics with my new camera-could not get a great pic.
She took one with her webcam-and well though it's not the best pic, it is better than any of mine.

my ring cost $300! and I thought that was too much, but he wanted to get it for me. We went to pick it out together, bc he knows I like to pick out my jewelry. and it was a fun trip. I didnt have an engagement ring, just a ring for the wedding. andI think it is a waste to have him buy me two rings for one marriage. LOL .

    Thanks

She always said a ring from a gumball machine would be fine, but it was worth the extra cash to see her reaction. She can't stop looking at it, so I assume I done good. lol

My ring cost $6! lol But it's not about how much you spend on the ring, it's about the symbolism. :)
