after the protests. I am ashame to be Canadian, that protest was against everything I stand for. they were arrogant, bad and everything I, as Canadian, did not feel represent in that protestation. SHAME!
Greetings, I was at the protest on Dec 1 in Halifax because I was showing my views on Bush and his illegal war. Just because you dont agree with what the protests stood for is no reason to be ashamed. The people at the protests were showing how they felt and in reality the protests were not meant to be anti-american, but instead anti- american policy. Among the protesters were people who supported Bush. Both groups intermingled without resorting to violence to silence the opposiing view. Im proud to call myself Canadian because both sides showed their opinion and did so in a respectful way. Democracy allows for opposing views and that occured during Bush's visit. Peace, Jon
You're ahamed of being Canadian? I'll bet more ashamed than you: My country reelected that idiot. If I thought it would do any good I'd of gone up & helped the Canadians protest.
I can't decide what was worse - The Canadians who embarrassed us by treating a visiting President with such disrespect. (He IS the representative of the American People) Or.. The Shameless exploitation of these disrespectful attention seekers by CNN AND Canadian (Toronto Based 'Liberal') Media. Giving the impression this was 'The way Canada feels'. This by the way seems to have instigated a tiny 'Backlash' by some Americans who took pokes at Canada. Too bad.. Canada was a tremendous aid to the USA after it was attacked - and has been ever since. ESPECIALLY in the war effort.
According to various polls that is how Canadians feel about the Bush administration. I haven't heard of many Canadians supporting the warmongering views that Bush has. Most of us are against the war, are against the "Star Wars' missile plan and resent the threats that have been made in relation to us trying to modernize the marajuana laws. It isn't media propaganda; it is the truth. I am proud to be Canadian! Shame on you for being ashamed of Canadians who want peace and independance.
Yes well CBC.ca 'Quick Polls' do not a Canada, make. Canadians went to war along side Americans invading and defeating the ANTI-PEACE Warmongering Afhanistan. And btw.. Canadians did a HELLUVA good job invading Afghanistan. Canada SUPPORTED AND STILL SUPPORTS the Invasion of Iraq. This is not only official but Canadians RE-Elected the same Parties who Officially Supported invading Iraq. No. 'WE' are not Anti-Bush or 'Anti-USA'. You might be FOR letting the Taliban to have continued in power but I (and the Majority of Canadians) were NOT. Sorry but Macleans and CBC along with a few thousand 'Professional Protesters' do NOT decide what Canada is 'for or against'. Elections do.
canadians were agaisnt invading afghnistan too, its just our gov helped provide troops...and how exactly is afghnistan war mongering? the last wars afghnistan fought in were to defend itself. what exactly makes a professional protestor, who's signing our cheques and why haven't i been paid yet? for the sake of bellitling the original poster: -------------------------------- I am ashame to be Canadian after the protests. I am(WAS) ashame(D) to be (A) Canadian,(.) (T)that protest was(went) against everything I stand for. they were arrogant, bad and everything (haha, not really incorrect, but rather childish) I, as (A) Canadian, did not feel represent(ed) in that protestation(-ation). SHAME (ON YOU)! ------------------------ dude, i don't feel represented in anti-abortion protests...mayeb thats because im not anti abortion? perhaps you should have gotten off your lazy ass and had a pro bush protest instead.
OSF.. it probably wasn't 'Cool' to simply drop into a thread and declare "I Hate Canada". Honestly, I dont see Canada as any 'Better' or 'Worse' than the USA (having lived in the USA briefly, and Canada most of my life). I cant imagine saying "I Hate the USA" Honestly OSF.. dont get sucked in by this media crap. this is what they WANT you to start acting like.
I dont think Ive ever 'reduced' someones Karma button. Definately not yours. Hehe.. I even left someone a 'Negative' comment but gave them more Karma. Mind you... publically posting 'Lick my Balls' would seem as bad or worse than someone zinging your Karma button?
