There really is shite on TV

We are house minding at the moment for some friends who have a wall mounted big ass TV, its huge

Dont really have a TV at home, last one I had didnt get switched on for 6 months so I got rid of it. Other half has a Tv Tuner on his PC but neither of us watch it.

Anyway, as a result, I've watched more TV this past week than in the last two years.

And I've discovered: there is fuck all on TV


Apart from Top Gear, its just a plethora of boring cop shows and the done to death reality genre

And with the comedies, 2 1/2 men gets a Prime time slot, but 30 rock gets pushed back to 11pm????

Plus we are in holiday ratings now, so its even worse

Why do people still buy these things?

i know what you mean, i try not to watch but when i do i get disgusted hah.

 

T.V. really does get to be boring, there's only certain stuff I watch now.

 

I sometimes like watching commercials, they're so entertaining in all their ridiculousness.

 

Not if MaryJBlaze makes it to the poker TV show. Now that would be cool TV!

my housemates watch television all the time. the only time i ever watch it is if they leave the television on, and even then i don't pay much attention or i just flip it off. it's really pointless and nothing catches my interest. it's stupid.

 

TV has gotten neurotic and unwatchable for the most part.

Nothing is on the screen for more than a half-second in some of those shows. They change the picture constantly, shake the video, zoom in and out like a trombone, make the video go blurry, etc.

The Weather Channel looks like MTV's jackass with a bunch of dumb stunts, fast-cut video, and constant huge in-your-face graphics like getting hit in the face with pies again and again. There was a time when they would visit researchers at places like the University of Oklahoma and talk about math and computers to predict weather. Now they blow up cars and houses with giant orange fire balls! Oooh! So cool!

all i watch is sports.

reality shows is everywhere and it just terrible.

 

In the past I've watched CYE, Californication, The Sopranos, Sin City, Six Feet Under, Dexter, SNL, stand up, and random movies.

Actually, I've seen most of that on the internet...I really only turn on the TV for the sports. :2thumbsup:

 

Coronation Street, the longest running soap opera in the world and the second longest running TV series in the world celebrates it's 50th anniversary tonight.I'm watching that. Are thee watchin' it too duck?

 

Are they responsible for the late night radio station who host talk shows that I enjoy listening to while drifting away, throwing in commercials for football matches with some guy screaming at the top of his voice and the dreadful sound of fans.

Have sport on when therez sport, not when I am trying to relax and unwind.

 

I've heard others refer to this phenomenon as the TV people playing their video games on your TV show. Think of all the money they could save by getting rid of the people doing the useless editing.

It's useless even to younger people. Personally, I just want the information, not all the cluttered hype that is supposed to somehow keep the viewer from changing the channel.

It's like wanting to buy a little jar of toy soap solution that makes bubbles and seeing it packaged in some giant glittering wasteful package in an attempt to get your attention that ends up as a big non-recyclable mess.

There are many shows that I love but I never watch TV... I just watch all the shows I like on the internet. So much more convenient. Since Netflix has come around I haven't needed to watch anything on an actual TV anymore.

 

I had to quit watching the animal planet cause the fucking "depression hurts commercial". Wtf is depressed watching the animal planet.

In fact fuck them animals.. I hope they all become extinct soon.. least that might put the depression fucks out of business ..

I dont really watch much tv at all now, for dvd and web surfing....

 

If nothing is on and I'm really stoned I end up watching some crazy mexican channel where they're all wearing costumes and singing and dancing and going nuts and there's lights flashing and half naked chicks

 

growing up we had 3 channels. 2, 5 and 6 and 6 was very scratchy. Now i can hold the remote for 15 minutes scrolling through. It crazy we have channel 8610 lol. 200 music channels easy, spanish, workout add channel, its endless, and all very pointless.

 

I just have the local channel, no cable or satellite.

The kids are enjoying Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy is on next.

 

jeopardy kicks ass. Show always makes my IQ lower...

I don't know why but i've always liked the price is right...
