Heard some advice today about using a food dehydrator as a means of curing quickly without ending up with harsh weed. Has anybody tried this or know anyone that has? Thanks for any input.
I doubt it. Maybe, but I doubt it. It probably works fine, but it'll never have the quality of really well-cured marijuana.
I really wouldnt do that, if you dry it so quickly it will loose a lot of its potency, I just harvested about 15 days ago and I´m smoking from that while curing at the same time, curing is a process that will give you a better smoke, more potent, and nice smelling. try to deal with the harshness, I always cure my harvests, and I think (dont know 4 sure cause I´ve never done it) but I think quickly dried bud will be harsh anyway. just my 2 cents.

It will dry it, but not cure it. Quickest cure: sun dry/cure it in a glass jar by sealing the jar and leaving it out in the sun. In a few hours, pour the water out and let the weed set in the sun in the jar without the lid for about 1/2 hour, then repeat until the buds sweat no more and most or all of the green color is gone. Anywhere from a few hours to a few days depending on the sun.
look feiend, you can smoke it and cure it at the same time, how much do you have? cause if its like 3-4 oz you can smoke from that and have properly cured bud in 3-4 weeks, with all due respect to Geckopelli, please dont let them sit in the sun, bud has two enemies, light and heat, keep it at room temp in a dark place and open the lid of the container for 30 mins or so, take what you´re gonna smoke and close it and put away again, what´s the hurry? you can have properly cured bud and be smoking it at the same time. peace to you all.
The sun/sweat will detract from the quality, but not a whole lot. You can't properly cure bud in the dark in a jar if you open it all the time. Sun curing is the reason gold weeds are gold. It smooths out the taste and eliminates the possibility of mold. The best quick way. Smoking half wet bud sucks.
well, it has worked for me, and I agree with you that smoking wet bud sucks, its so damn harsh, when my weed is too wet I just put some to dry and smoke it, but I like some properly cured weed if I can. From my first harvest (Cinderella99) I got 340 dried grams, so I had quite a bit of a stash, Iput away 250 grams in the dark and dried the rest, there was a big diference from the cured bud.
