On Dec. 8 1980 John Lennons life was taken unjustly. I have always worn all black on dec. 8 so I could show the world that he will never be forgotton. I am asking everyone to do this again along with me...I know its a bit early to be asking but I wanto get as many people as possible. Please help with this cause John Lennon was a fantastic writer and the beatles were great. So please morn the death of a brother with me and dwell apon the thought of Yoko Ohno and the rest of the standing beatles on this blood stricken day.
    Thank You and god bless

This is a photo I took at the Lennon memorial in NYC with my rusty throw away camera... Just thought it might complement this post.

George Harrison has been on my mind all day, along with John Lennon. I'll be sure to mourn for John on December 8, as I have for George today. I'm just happy that George died of more humane causes than John did.

i will attempt to visit the memorial of him on his fallen day, and will dig up my black clothes, though if i could i would rather remember instead of mourn him, so i may be wearing bright vibrant colors as well. He is forever imprinted in my brain though, and i will stop to think of him as we should all.

it was amazing, the response with candles and flowers that i saw. the outpouring of grief is still flowing, man. someone has to clear it off the site hourly or it becomes completely impassable.

:) I was just thinking of that song as i brought up your post. Wow! I like John Lennon. I have a book called John Lennon Unseen Archives. Has a timeline of events, hundreds of photos and a basic story of his life and involvement with the beatles. Although i dont have all black to wear i will be remembering him. May he rest in peace.

    Peace love and respect

Ya know...we should wear white and not black. Cause black's more sad and white is happy. yes we're sad he died, but just think of the life he lead. And he'd wear white on a day like that...

Whenever I think of John Lennon's death I like to remember the words from one of his songs off of his last album (I believe) Double Fantasy. It kinda gives solace as it seems that he was "ready" and maybe even knew it was time to go. Sad that those who advocate peaceful ways and means, always seem to die violent deaths....

    Watching the Wheels *
    by John Lennon

People say I'm crazy doing what I'm doing,
Well they give me all kinds of warnings to save me from ruin,
When I say that I'm o.k. they look at me kind of strange,
Surely your not happy now you no longer play the game,

People say I'm lazy dreaming my life away,
Well they give me all kinds of advice designed to enlighten me,
When I tell that I'm doing Fine watching shadows on the wall,
Don't you miss the big time boy you're no longer on the ball?

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go,

People asking questions lost in confusion,
Well I tell them there's no problem,
    Only solutions,
Well they shake their heads and they look at me as if I've lost my mind,
I tell them there's no hurry...
I'm just sitting here doing time,

I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round,
I really love to watch them roll,
No longer riding on the merry-go-round,
I just had to let it go.

I guess we should more celebrate his life than morn it...so whatever you choose to do John would be proud that even thought I was after his time...he still left a lasting impact...so however you choose to show the love and memory he would be proud. You should dance in the street have a candle light seremony or just simply live your life happy and peacefully as he would have wanted it to.

thank you so much though for giving him the time because not many people like to think upon the past. Its good to remember.

May we also pray for Johns son and Yoko Ohno as well

I was thinking and you know the sone beautiful boy (I think thats what its called) by John? He talks about how he cant wait to see him come to age and all thats really sad because he never really saw it...I think that has to be the biggest fear of any parent!

It was Johns time thought who knows for what reason he was taken from the world but his sun had set for a reason.

    Love you all

I thought this was a great photo of John and Yoko.

'Drove from Paris to the Amsterdam Hilton
Talking in our beds for a week
The newspapers said, say what're you doing in bed
I said we're only trying to get us some peace -
Christ! You know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
They way of things are going
    They're going to crucify me.'

'Made a lighting trip to Vienna
Eating chocolate cake in a bag
The newspaper said, she's gone to his head
They look just two Gurus in drag
Christ! You know it ain't easy
You know how hard it can be
They way of things are going
    They're going to crucify me.'

Man, I am a Beatles lyrics geek, I could go on and on so I will stop now. Hehe.

fifty acorns tied in a sack
    Peter Brown called to say
    You can make it okay
You can get married in Gibraltar near Spain

"I believe in everything until it's disproved. So I believe in fairies, the myths, dragons. It all exists, even if it's in your mind. Who's to say that dreams and nightmares aren't as real as the here and now? Reality leaves a lot to the imagination." -John Lennon

If someone thinks that love and peace is a cliche that must have been left behind in the Sixties, that's his problem. Love and peace are eternal.
    -John Lennon
