I don't text like...ever. Or use the phone. So I don't dream about that stuff. I dream about work. A LOT. It's kind of annoying.
teleporting works instead. its a different universe. things work different, yes, that's the deffinician of a different universe. but they work just as well as the things that do instead here. there's nothing in my dreams that doesn't work, nor isn't totally life like and believable. only the differing properties of the universe distinguish that one for this one for me. mirrors and readouts and keyboards and books all work in my universe just fine. being not that social, i've just never even though of carrying or using a cell phone anyplace in my dreams. the only thing that sometimes annoys me about how it works there, is i too often end up teleporting somewhere when i'd rather be riding the public transport that is abundant in most of them.
Ooo, doing things in dreams is fun. However, I think as real as it seems its just your imagination, even if you manage to text or get a reply (words and small details are usually blurry even in lucid dreams) it will all be a product of your subconcious. still cool though.
Yeah I don't think there are any set rules for dreams. Like the one where you can't turn lights on or off in dreams is true, and I was using this as means to trigger lucid dreaming for a while once, but when I became aware of this one time I had a dream and the light switches seemed to work again!
Interesting point about the collective consciousness. Yeah the more I lucid dream the more things work (light light switches) like you become more aware so less is possible because it is too real.
I discovered last night that lighting candles in dreams seems to be quite difficult as well, as is getting tunes to play on your computer..
i discovered a couple nights ago that when your finger falls off in a dream, you just have to stick it back on and it will stay.
This seems hazardous... next time I go to sleep I'll call the fire department for you... the problem is the number changes from dream to dream... last time I think it was 99111111111111111~ and I have to trudge through waist deep barbed wired to get to the land line in my dream because I've determined that most cell phone plans are nightmares.
Steady on! I can't even get the candles to start burning! ...unless I am sleeping walking through all of this in which case can someone from the "dream world" please call the fire brigade tonight? (I've been having recurring dreams a lot lately...)
When I play guitar in dreams I always know how even if I think I don't. Either I somehow learn the cords or when I strum it just makes the sounds I need.
Does anyone ever have dreams where they can't open their eyes more than a third of the way or when they try to walk they keep falling over?
I have had plenty of occasions when my alarm clock would go off and I'd try answering my phone? I have been known to sleep-call people, though. So I guess my dreams are reality even if I don't remember doing it
