    Some chick in my city died, she was only 17. I never got the fucking needle that prevents this and now I'm scared shitless I'm going to get it and die.

    I'm going out tonight to jam, and then I'm staying inside until I get the fucking needle.

    It seems like it's easy as fuck to get it too.....

    lol, just so you know this isn't one of those "RIP" threads.... It's a "go get the fucking needle before CC dies" thread.... Although I feel bad for her family, that would be awful.

    Here we go, the scare tactics begin...

    Anyways, the article said this;

    Perhaps she had it for awhile, perhaps she had an underlying medical condition that caused her immune system to become weak.

    I wouldn't go shitting bricks over it.

    life is full of risks. i am not afraid. i may eat those words in the future, but for now i am not afraid. we have had several people die from it in this state fairly recently. best thing i can advise, is if you are willing to be vaccinated: do. and even if you are not, develop an awareness of your body so that when something doesnt feel right you are able to notice. a stiff neck is usually just a stiff neck. but if you dont know what a regular stiff neck feels like, you wont be able to tell if its a different pain/ stiffness. you feel a twinge, look it up on the internet. what muscle? what bone? does it hurt in the bone or on the bone? can you tell the difference? most people cant, and it takes practice, but you can feel your body more that you think.

    If fear of illness makes you restrict your life then you're a victim of that disease whether or not you actually get it.

    Apparently the death rate due to meningitis is relatively low. Shit, you can't hide from disease forever or when it does find you, it'll get your compromised immune system. So go out, my friend, breathe in that bacteria, and exhale the air of a free man.

    He lives in Hamilton. Going out side to breathe the air is the very last thing he wants to do. If I lived there I'd be 1000X more concerned about the air then I would be about some disease.

    you're like 10,000 times more likely to die just on your way to school than from meningitis lol. especially at your age.
