There are a couple of threads floating around out there that suggests there can be issues achieving orgasms if you are taking SSRI's. Almost 2 months ago my dosage of Cymbalta was increased 30mg. I did not think about any sexual side effects, just that the increase did help me feel better. Then maybe a month ago I noticed it was getting increasingly difficult to cum. I just thought it was just one of those things that happens sometimes- Then I realized it occurred only after the increase in dosage. Although my girl said not to worry, I was getting very frustrated. I see the pdoc today so I figured we could discuss. PS: Last night I achieved sweet relief/release. I came for what seems like 40 seconds straight. Geez it felt awesome, and my girl loved having so much cum inside her, but I will still be discussing with dr. I don't feel like waiting a month between orgasms. Anybody else have issues-remedies...?
They are anti-depressants and if she tells me she can-she can, and she can certainly feel it dripping out.
I know that when I was on Effexor XR I had a very hard time...you want to but it's just out of reach..That is if you even want to..But you have very vivid erotic dreams.. One of my friends currently takes Effexor and has the same problem.
my gf has felt me cum in her before. not all the time just a couple times. when u cum alot. u try n take some herbal sex labido pills... they will make u hornier and counteract the meds. but not horny got weed.. doesnt work. go to a bodybuilding shop n get some testosterone boosters... best herb to get is somthing called tribulous... i took anti depressants for a year, and i couldnt have done it without tribulous.
I took zoloft a few years ago and it made it really hard for me to have an orgasm. I am a chick by the way, that shit fucks with the ladies too. I stopped taking it, the side effects were not worth it.
yea my gf was on that for a while, when we first started goin out, and she literally couldnt have one like, after an hour of me fingering/going down on her she couldnt, and same with sex so i looked it up, it is a very common side effect to ssri's, and depression in general making it hard to near impossible to achieve orgasm ps, when she got switched from it to a non-ssri, im able to make her cum damn near at will when shes horny lol, so it really is a big effect.....
I have been taking Fluoxetine for a while and it does affect sexual performance. Besides that, I take a blood pressure med and two meds for prostate problems (Avodart & Flomax). The combination of all these not only has reduced my libido but when I do get horny it takes me much longer to get fully hard and to orgasm and most of the time it will be a dry orgasm - no jizz at all.
Definitely a common effect and one that most doctors don't know about or just don't mention. Horny goat weed should work in theory similarly to viagra but you need lots (like 10 grams of a good extract!), and even then i doubt it would help for SSRI delayed orgasms. Yohimbe might help but be carefull with that one. Start with 5 mg or less. Something like Proviron (only before sex) could help someone that is on 5alpha reductase inhibitors.
I was on lexapro for a while, but then after some research and advice from a friend,i decided that i didnt want to be on that shit anymore. I too noticed the negative sexual side effects. Personally, i couldnt orgasm/ejaculate, this actually caused some tension between my ex-girlfriend and I. I explained everything to her, and once i came off of lexapro i was able to ejaculate and have powerful orgasms again. Sexual side effects are only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the negative side effects of the majority of SSRIs...
