I love Insects theyre so cool, I think they come from another planet/dimension like viruses or funghi lol
I am no discriminator of insects. I step on all of them (except praying mantises or ladybugs). Spend some time on my ranch and you'll be stepping on spiders too! More than you can shake a stick at, including black widows and brown recluses. Within a few days you'll be walking around with bug spray whenever you go outside.
I've read that humans have the same biomass as arthropods. I'm not sure how they measured that all. But if that's true, 7 billion people weigh as much as all the bugs on earth. They've been around 2 billion years. We've been around 100,000 years. Fuck bugs. Humanity #1!
I found a dying mantis this summer... It was starving. Moving very slow. So I picked him up and brought him over to a dragonfly and he grabbed it and ate it. Then my family made me feel bad for "killing" the dragonfly even though the mantis would have died without sustenance... My rationalization (and I'm sure there are holes, but stuff it, they're bugs) is this: One of them was going to die so I chose the one I hadn't bonded with. If I don't feel bad killing a chicken to eat it, why should I feel bad helping a mantis kill something to live as well?
Nature did not make insects. Insects are like 6 times the biomass of humanity because the laws allow that. The same laws that allow blackholes
LOL Everything is "created" by nature....everything that exists is natural because it came from something that exists that came from something that exists
Sometimes I wonder if they're really alien spies... If they turn on us, we haven't got a chance in hell... then again, we do have plenty of pesticide... but that's ignorant and cheap. Did you know, before the use of the pesticides DDT and Agent Orange, there were nearly 40 species of potatoes worldwide? Yeah... stupid government and their untested chemicals and radioactive materials. One of my favorite memories was about 2 years ago, sitting in one of our "used-to-be" friend's backyards, listening to all the crickets and cicadas singing in the woods and hearing my mom's friend (who is rather hippish and VERY knowledgeable on many subjects) say, "Wow... Listen to that orchestra."
You speak of 'nature' as though it is a 'plan' I call nature a set of rules. This is more precise. When someone says 'it's unnatural' They are speaking from the left over dogma of the British naturalists. There IS NO THING that is unnatural. Thus the term is simply silly Did nature make the rules? No thus nature is of the rules and laws like gravity and entropy semantics yes.. But the term 'Natural' needs to die. Like communism it was an expedient at the time.. now superfluous
the collective ego of humanity, just because we've got big heads, is the silliest thing in the universe.
