Dialouge of the Head Voice

"I feel what you're feeling. You know what happened last time. How did it feel then, hmm? It tore your heart. It bruised your soul. It scarred you. You may not think it did much damage, but look at the mess you've become over this. You long for time to count backwards, tick tock, to rewrite and mend what's lost. But you don’t have to hide behind the mask of bliss anymore.

"It's dried up, turned to dust, swept away on the wind and never to be back again. Futile: that's what this is. Hope's not meant for you, darling. You'll find no happiness in this pursuit.

"Just close your eyes, lay your head down, and don't dwell on these silly things. Sleep, quiet, bundle it all together and burn it from your mind. I'll eat your dreams away and you'll be rolling in black velvet. I'll set you sailing on an ocean of sweet delirium and you'll stay asleep forever, you'll never realize.

"Suck at the air; in, out, take my hand. Click your heels; one, two, three, and fall with me. I can't promise that I'll catch you, but you'll never hit the bottom. Hold your arms out and maybe you can fly, if you've emptied yourself enough.

"Toss it all away. There’s nothing left for you but the shadows. Embrace me and you accept yourself. We’re one and the same, you know. Don’t push me away. It can’t be half so delicious if you let it sit and go stale. You won’t have to bleed anymore for something so absurdly insignificant as emotion if you take me in. Accept what I am, and what you’re to become, and existence will be an incomprehensible perfection.

"The past is the past is the past. You’re given a chance to obliterate all understanding and sense of self. That is what you wanted, right? Of course it is. I’ll kiss your pain away, and swallow your regrets. It’s a world of static smiles and glassy eyes, but it’ll seem real enough. Shh, it’s coming now, my anesthetic kiss, to drown away sensation and pull you under.

"Just abjure your reality, lovely; you always liked to take the easy way out.”
