This is fucking ridiculous. And a supreme waste of money.

 

hahaha wow. Completely agree that the exercise was a HUGE waste of money and time. And as for the pot smokers as terrorists......wtf. Also, this took place in California.......one of the more lenient states in regards to Cannabis laws...so fucking stupid.

Yeah, the terrorist pot farmer part is pretty far fetched, but I can't call the whole thing a huge waste of time & money. First, half a million dollars isn't that huge, and second, 10 years ago the idea of protecting air liners from people who want to hijack them & fly them into tall buildings would have seemed crazy. I'd like to see the Government do more anti terrorist exercises like this. This exercise didn't trample everyone's civil rights, and might actually do some good, if Bad Guys out there are looking at our dams.

Depends... if the objective is to create the perception that pot smokers are akin to terrorists to help ensure any legalization moves in the future are quashed by brainwashed voters, then they may see the money and time as well spent.

 

Roughly 3 million children go hungry in the US everyday. $500,000 would have fed at least some of them.

0 Pot farmers pull terrorist stunts that involve dams.

 

Politicians are only concerned with children going hungry strictly to the degree that the issue affects their political image and careers.... apart from the existence of the issue creating demand for government expansion. They couldn't care less how the immense stacks of money could have been better spent. It's likely they look upon starving children with the same contempt as those advocating that they be fed.
