Assholes are somewhere between incompetent, inept and perverted. This is only one reason why we no longer fly. I LOVE the tape that guy made where he's like, "Well whatever but if you touch my junk I'm gonna have you arrested and I'm gonna sue you." I remember when that hit the news! Well, here we are a couple years later and the turkey has come home to roost!

fuck being groped, but I really wouldn't mind the scan if it didn't cause radiation. I can definitely see why people don't want it, I'm just not that self conscious.

I'm thinking of taking a trip after thanksgiving just so I can get a pat down but before I think I'll pull up my shirt and pull down my pant and let the pat away.

I guess we are overlooking the obvious: take off our clothes in the private room, let them see that we are unarmed, put our clothes back on. No radiation, no groping, no problem!

Uhhh, I prefer NEITHER. In fact, I've decided I'm no longer flying, I will find some other way to travel if I have to. The scans are dangerous and way too revealing, andI find the thought of the "enhanced pat-down" disgusting and degrading. If a TSA agent tried to fondle my genitals or breasts, I would slap them-and if I had kids they wouldn't even get near them. BUT. What can I do about it. Nothing right? Except not fly. So there it is.

EDIT: I'm not uncomfortable with my body, but to me that's not even the issue. The issue is that the TSA is just coming in and saying "We have the right to do this to you, because of terrorists. We can poke and prod at your genitals, traumatize your children, and the only choice you have is not to fly." They are getting Americans used to the idea that this HAS to happen, and later when they're doing it "at random" on the streets, or in a stadium, or where ever, no one will bat an eyelash because we've all gotten used to it and decided not to care.

Conformity.. The way I see this.. The Airline is becoming more of and institution than that of public transportation .. Its running exactly like a prison would run..

To move around the prison you must carry your inmate id card at all times. Your person can be searched at anytime for shake down: often seen during mass line movements.
You pass though metal detectors. You are under video surveillance at all times.
Your packages being shipped out of the institution must also be inspected for contraband.. Yes: Inmate packages being sent out are all checked. Reason; Gambling within the institution makes tobacco, jewelery, drugs. much cheaper/ ie winnings /winning now sent to home and resold for higher values..

I try to take Alex Jones with a grain of salt, but her interview is worth a listen.

Amtrak is a fraction of the price. No metal detectors. No searches. Seats recline all the way back. You can step outside and get stoned or smoke a cig at the stops. Drink as much beer as you want or bring your own booze. Charge your appliances. Great scenery.

I went from Seattle to Denver for around $150 last year. I brought a few ounces with me, no hassle. A bottle whiskey, no problem. Took about 48 hours but was an adventure unto itself. Train went down the coast to San Fran then through Sierra Nevedas and through the desert. Followed the Colorado River into Denver. Gorgeous. I havnt flown since :)

The only reason I fly is if I'm going overseas or there is a time constraint and I have to get somewhere fast.

It's fucked up that the airlines can make any rules they want and get away with it because people have to use them in a lot of cases, there's just no other option for fast long distance travel. Well, except...

I don't like the idea of either being xrayed nor patted down...Amtrak is starting to look more appealing.

Flying domestically is no longer an option. I have used Amtrak and Greyhound in the past and have no problem using them in the future. This has nothing to do with how comfortable you are with nudity or your own body, it has to do with how we are being treated as though we are guilty and have to be proven innocent. We are being made to willingly surrender our rapidly deteriorating freedoms by a government that has made remarkable progress in fear based manipulation. It is wrong and it is disgusting. If I took nude photos of a child or groped their genitalia, I would be considered a felon. When the TSA agent does it, however, it's a security measure. The only way I will consent to either the pat down or scan, at this point, is if I am flying overseas permanently. One grope for a one-way ticket is the only option.

Amtrak is kind of expensive now...round trip is $430 which is almost double the airline prices I found. Looks like I'm taking the bus.

No way I want some stranger touching me. How is that possibly safer than a full body scan that can see through clothes anyway? I'd go for a long road trip over flying any day.

If someone is going to touch me, I want soft music and a glass of wine first. I am not a tramp.

If you think airport body scans are the only place that strangers see you naked, you are mistaken.
Ever changed clothes in a department store?
    Every been to a doctor?
    Ever had a massage?
    Ever been in the military?
Ever taken a shower after working out at the health club?

But I really don't think that air travel is all that.
Why does fast food give you heartburn but slow home cooking go down so good?

Slow is better! Give me a technicolor party bus any day!

Yes, being forced to take off your clothes in front of a stranger... that is SO much better!

I'm just really glad that I am a homebody and don't desire to go anywhere anytime soon.
