Now I completely understand if you despise the website Facebook and I invite you to discuss why but my main purpose for this thread is to talk about the movie The Social Network. I just had to mention that because I am just as prone as anyone else to start rambling about that site even though this is the Movie section of Hipforums. Alright! :sunny: One of the main reasons I wanted to see the film was because I love learning stories about the bright minds of others. Even if most of this film's plot was fabricated it still instills that cool inspired feeling you get after seeing a nice movie. About the way it was written- Non-stop dialogue and information being thrown at you. It was a great approach! Since the movie was based around fast-thinking intelligent people, why would it be slow paced so everyone could be at ease and keep up? Kept your brain going! The sometimes witty and often well-spoken conversations were so entertaining to watch! Did anyone else see this movie? Please tell me what you thought! :2thumbsup:arty:
Watched it last week, IMO it was ok, but a bit long, maybe if they'd cut some of the more boring stuff and made it half an hour shorter I would have liked it, I like the acting and the way the film was presented, but the story lacked a bit I think.
I thought it was really well done, great pacing, awesome dialog, good drama. I look forward to seeing it again.
Firstly I have to say that as a movie, that is as a piece of art and entertainment, I absolutely loved it. There is no doubt that it is a brilliant movie. Perhaps it is then of topic that the falsehoods in the movie annoyed me greatly. Starting from the fact that the girl at the start of the movie never existed. What's more I feel that the movie missed the point of what sites such as Facebook represent. Regardless of whether you favour Zuckerberg or the Twins side of the story, the key aspect of the facebook story is that none of them needed permission for this. They didn't need to get permission from Harvard, or from some broadcasting company to start what has become one of the largest sites in the world. They just did it. That's the true story of new media.
