After his latest example of cowering to the GOP, Howard Fineman from The Huffington post has reported that the Obama Administration will cave in to the republicans tax plan, and will accept their plan to borrow another $700 Billion from China to give tax breaks to Billionaires and Millionaires. My family is middle class, and we can't be depended on to restore this economy and pay for tax breaks for rich people, let alone pay our mortgage, etc.

If Obama continues to cave into republicans like this, I will not vote in 2012...If I want a Republican president I just won't vote, not vote for a democrat and be filled with false hopes.

welcome to the two party system. I hate that this is a situation where thats all I have to say. I want to ask, what can we do to change it? but I fear there is no answer.

You all should have voted for Nader in 2000, 2004 and 2008. Whoever Nader supports in 2012 - vote for that person. NOTHING is ever gonna change if you keep voting for dems and pubs. America has been in dire need of a true third party for half a century. Nader has been trying his heart out to establish one, God love him.

Obama needs to realize he's in executive branch already and stop acting like a legislator.

Yeah, I'm so disappointed in Obama... what a faker... said he was going to change things and all he did was keep things exactly the same... perhaps if he had accomplished something, anything during his time there to distinguish himself... but no... he just spends all his time caving in to the republicans like a little bitch...

Remember when that bastard promised he would make sure that everyone in your country could afford healthcare.... the fucker just caved in and rolled... and man, would that ever have been a feather in his cap if he would have... Presidents for 50 years have been teasing you americans voters with the idea... I guess none will ever do it...

He said he was going to change things in the whole war end too, yet look at the bastard... sticking to what the previous president started... he should have just cut and run... that would have made everyone MUCH happier... what in the fuck was he thinking... not running out on commitments like that... that fucker...

Hell, we still aren't even sure if he is really an american...after all...

    Okay... no I can't continue....

WHAT IN THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE??!?!?!!?!?!?!!?

Chronic, there is a difference between having ridiculous expectations of people, and being actually let down. Obama DID campaign on a public option, strong wall street reform, no tax breaks for the rich, Etc.

And when it actually comes down to it, he either cowers to the GOP, or he lets them walk all over him and add amendments, tax cuts, and anything else they want to the bills being put forward, and even the THREAT of a filibuster makes Obama and the rest of the Dems cry like babies, when in reality if they LET the republicans read a phone book for 20 hours on national TV, it would take ONE day for the American People to see what pieces of shit they are. But instead, Obama's strategy is give them everything they want, and Americans will think hes bipartisan! But the problem is they all think he's a socialist and he will never turn those people around.

Obama could have accomplished nothing by now, but if he had stood up and fought for the things he truly believes in and we need as a country, there is no question I would be voting for him in 2012. Instead he just passed watered down, joke bills that he could later pass off as legislative accomplishments.

If he accomplishes nothing else in his presidency besides the health care reform that has already happened, he has done more for 95% of americans, and 99.99% of american hipforumers then ANY OTHER PRESIDENT, EVER!

As for 'he's a socialist'... why not call him a commie to while you are at it... how about fucking ******? If you can't talk about the issues instead of resorting to making slanderous assaults on him, you are just proving that you don't care about the issues, just your labels...

Unless you are in the top 5% of the richest americans.... Obama has helped you... even if you are too fucking stupid to see it...

That's the beauty of it, and you don't even see it...

He didn't say.. how can I help those who voted for me and gave money to my campaign... he did what a president is SUPPOSED to do... He helped almost all of them regardless of how they voted or what they say about him.

Now, all the american sheep are jumping from supporting him, to attacking him and voting for candidates who are of the same ilk as those that caused the problems america is having right now... the right wingers, wether you call them republicans or teabaggers, these are the people who support the top 5% richest americans FIRST and FOREMOST over all the rest of you...

Well first of all you are right about the healthcare aspect. I do agree with you, and maybe I did come off as a little harsh. As to your accusation that I was calling him a socialist. I am not calling him a socialist, Hell I wish he was more like one, but he is absolutely in no way a socialist or a communist.

I really dislike your accusation that I would refer to the president in a derogatory way. I am proud that my country elected a black man to the White House. What i was doing was referring to the GOP congressman, and senators, as well as the extreme right in this country who President Obama loves to pander to thinking they will compromise with him, when they in fact believe he is some ideological socialist communist one man terror cell, and will never think otherwise.

The President refuses to pander to the liberal base that got him elected in 2008, because he believes that we will vote for him regardless of what he does, and that is what I am fighting against here. I am not some tea party asshole, I am a liberal who is genuinely upset with his President, and I should have the right to express that without being called a racist.

I voted for Obama in 2008, and I voted for my Democratic Congressman (Rush Holt) in 2010 who I agree with on policy issues. So I am not some whiny shithead just angry that I didn't get everything I wanted. I was one of those people during the health care debate who agreed with the President that we shouldn't let perfection be the enemy of the good. But at this point Obama's sellouts to the GOP have gotten to such a disgusting level, that I am having some serious second thoughts on him. If that bothers you I'm sorry, but a lot of other Americans who aren't stupid or racist or right wing nutjobs are starting to think the same.

A president who refuses to pander to his base... my god... what a fucking horrible thing...

Do you not comprehend that every time you say this shit you are making your whole country worse?

You claim to be a liberal who is upset with him because your side didn't get special treatment? He isn't YOUR president... He is the president of ALL americans... regardless of whether or not they are his base.

How many times have other presidents been villified both in the media and by the left, because they pandered to their base instead of governing for all? And now you are bitching about it???

You want to know why you never get the people who really should be running the country running for office? Look in the mirror... Why in the fuck would ANYONE want to be put in the position that no matter what you do, you have people attacking you, even when what you do, is what they said they wanted out of a president?

    As for you
You are right, I did misread what you said... It still doesn't change the fact that ALL you have been doing in this thread IS talking derogatorily about him.

You say you agree with me about health care? If this was true, you wouldn't be here bitching and moaning about how much he sucks for the way he is doing things...

How many presidents and presidential candidates have said they would start health care reform? I'm pretty sure its somewhere around 100% of them... How many have ever done a damn thing?

    1

But because he didn't pander to your beliefs and do everything you wanted him to, you are here publicly calling for his downfall...

    Good job man...

When a republican or teabagger gets in next time because people like you didn't get everything you wanted... remember this conversation and go look in the mirror to find out why your country implodes...

Ok, Well, actually when a teabagger is elected president, Obama and the democrats are the ones who should be blaming themselves. It wasn't little me complaining on hipforums that made the liberal base sit home on 2010 and most likely in 2012, it's Obama and the Democrats not doing what they were put there to do. Fight for the American people and fight for the middle class, which they have thrown to the side, thinking all they need to do is use the right rhetoric and they will vote for them reguardless. I was in the same boat as you a few months ago man, and that is why i made this post, because i am finally done with them, and hopefully you will wake up and see that after Obama and the Democrats cave in again, and again, and again.

This is how you treat the president whom you say you agree has done more for the majority of the american people then any other president?

Do you not see what you are saying?

Look right back to when he was running, I said then that you would be lucky if he accomplished a single thing besides getting re-elected for a second term... becuase that is how your system works... The first term is not for making sweeping or radical changes... it is for sucking up to whomever you can to make sure you get re-elected...

Did Obama do this... this thing that every president has done? Did he sidestep the hard shit or find a way to delay it or blame it on someone else?

NO... he said he would start health care reform and he did... and in that one thing, he not only did more for the majority of americans then any other president, he did more to make sure he WONT get in for a second term. He has been doing this in many ways. Why? I don't know, I'm not him... perhaps he is trying to do the best he can in a really fucked up system and wasn't willing to risk waiting til the second term to actually do something to help his fellow americans.... even the ones who attacked him or bailed on him...

What a shitty thing for him to do eh?

See that's your main problem, you fail to realize that, although...Yes, Obama did do a good thing for millions of Americans who will now receive healthcare. You know what else he did right at the beginning? He made a deal with the drug companies and the health insurance industry to slash the public option from the bill for their support, while TELLING Americans on TV that their was still a good chance we could get it. In the end, he lost their support anyway and we were left without a public option when we could have gotten it. As much as I think Obama is a great person, and very well meaning, he is way to naive. I want a president who will fight and will not fall for the tricks of big industry and get played. Will I most likely vote for Obama again in 2012? Probably, but I feel extremely disenfranchised and I feel like there is an administration in the white house right now who feels like my, and every other progressives vote is already in the box for them and they don't even need to fight for it, and i want to send a message to them that that is wrong. Maybe it truly is time to really start voting third party.

Let me translate this for you into a coherent statement...

Yes, Obama has already done more for the majority of americans then any other president, if he sat on his ass and did nothing else for the next two years... he will still have done more for the american people then any other president... But I don't care... He didn't do everything I expected of him, so fuck him, I'm voting for someone else...

Did I get that about right?

just because people tell you that your vote is waisted if you dont democrat or republican doesnt make it true. Vote for whatever party represents you. ive decided, since voting is such a relatively weak/small act voting is more about sticking up for what you believe in than actually "changing the world"

I don't believe I said he has done more than any other President in History, But if I did than I was wrong in agreeing with you because that is not the case. I believe FDR, JFK, LBJ, and Abraham Lincoln might beg to differ.
