hey, i have had a lot of anxiety and problems recently but have finally found what i am experiencing. its called visual snow. i have read on other forums that apparently it can happen after taking LSD? wondering if anyone else is suffering from this? as it is really annoying at times, fine if u forget about it. but now have realised its permanent it is easy to stay in you mind. causes anxiety, depression. the lot! i get it even when im in bed trying to sleep. if i concentrate on it, its the worse. added with memories i can see images from the day extremely clearly. is quiet terrifying at times. i think i also have tinnitus im only 18 and only noticed it in the last few months since i did acid in august. also good to know that there is no proven cure at the moment.
squiggly line squiggly line https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olQn5xSTZQw&feature=related"]YouTube - "Oh Squiggly Line?" Stewie Griffin everyone has an Entoptic phenomena.. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entoptic_phenomenon
any chance of putting that into dumb persons terms? or your own experiences. mine seems to persist constantly
you can press on your 1/2 closed eyes9with your fingers) and make all kinds of fuzzy stuff happen to your vision.. everyone sees squigglies, and disturbances in their vision..
ha ha nice video think will have to post that on the other forums where people are very very disrupted by the SQUIZZERLY LINE! but there does seem to be a big thing about snow vision. a girl has become blind due to it. not blind in the sense that she see's nothing but here vision is full of colour and dots! due to large amounts of migraines!
i have alot of disturbances in my vision.. I could crack my back stretching and see stars, yawn and see things.... its nothing to worry about, there are better things to see. if you open your eyes..
Wikipedia says: I would add based on new scientific studies that LSD may indeed rewire your brain. Since we now know that your brain is constantly changing based upon experience (it's not static like everyone used to think). Connections get rewired all the time, changing associative pathways. When you have a very strong experience it can rewire whole sections of our brains. I'm sure this is something everyone feels to a certain extent after a deep LSD experience. And after an LSD experience you are never the same person, this is why. So it obviously rewired part of your vision system. I wonder if you stared at the sun too long or something like that while under the influence. That's something ppl try during their trips - not a good idea of course. Hopefully it's temporary and you'll return back to normal, but if there was significant rewiring, it might not be possible... Something we all need to heed when doing psychedelics...
this dont explain the smack I got upside the head from nuns, cause I was daydreaming , looking at entopics.. I believe that the entoptic phenomenon is what lead me to psychedelics and other visual aids. :sunny:
hmmm. is so annoying. there is no point saying i wouldn't have done acid if i knew this was going to happen, because being young i would do it anyway. these things dont happen to me right? seems on other forums many many people have this snow vision even if not done lsd. it can just be a bit distracting some times. aseptically as im now at uni trying to be all intelligent. gets me a bit down. and this ringing in my ears is blooming annoying if i listen to it. im only 18! oh well im over the worst of what ever i have gone through over the last few months. some twat of a nurse did flash a light in my eyes to wake me up when i passed out in my trip. it was extremely intense and could defiantly call the second half 'a bad trip' the first half and the whole morning after was very fun and hippie like a bit like avatar. i felt like everything was glowing and had energy. when i connected with it i was sharing this energy. such fun
Ringing in your ears. From something else. Been to any loud concerts lately? That is the primary cause of hearing loss in my generation and those that came after...
its tinnitus and yes is strengthened when been out to a club. but is linked to anxiety and this visual snow thing. because there all things that dont go away and constantly in your sight or hearing. can work people into very depressive states. im trying so hard to stay positive but just seems at the moment im coming up with different problem with my self every week. as i keep saying im only 18 i should be loving life not depressing my self with my problems :/
here where i live (san antonio, texas) there is the university of texas health science center which, is one of the top 10 medical and science research centers in the u.s.a. more and more, what is called 'visual snow' seems, to be related to neurological stuff in the center of the brain that, deals with vision. i'm not going into depth on this matter. i will offer you my suggestion on it though. go to your primary care doc and, tell them about what is going down with you. most likely your doc will send you to an eye doc for an eye exam. i just went to my ear, nose, and throat doc this past monday for my every 5 year hearing test. most likely your doc will also refere you to an ear, nose, and throat doc for you to get a hearing test. your doc may also send you to a neurologist to determine if you have any perment brain damage. after going through all that shit with the docs and, if they find nothing wrong with you of a physical nature then, it is mental. you will need to see a psychologist to help you to learn how to contol your anxiety. mate, don't fuck around with this anxiety shit! if you should start to develop panic attacks, with the mental state your in right now, you more then likely will develop an anxiety disorder. you need to take action now! your in a mess right now. if you do nothing, you will wind up shit creek with out a paddle... then you will be really fucked! please take care of yourself right now!
maybe thats why i developed an interest in drugs, i used to do this to my eyes all the time when i was young...I think i stopped when i discovered drugs.
some meditation people press the sides their eyes to enhance visuals .. ive done attempted eye stimulation while on psychedelics, just as forcing your eyes shut can make Closed eye visuals .. you can do it now/ close your eyes hard using your forehead muscles , if your is anything like mine> you should see bright flashed , red streaks, white streaks and possibly the brightest thing you last seen/ like a tv set or lamp or candle.. In the same way your eyes carry bright flashes off a camera , you continue to see spots for some time after. you can take a camera in a dark room, holding your hand out/ flash at your hand held in front of you, move your hand away .. and a visual image should still remain there in the darkness as your mind remembers it -til it fades in the darkness..
i went through damn near the exact same thing last year, almost to the letter. i had the ringing, snow, anxiety, and some pretty deep depression, that lasted a while. but as you grow and change, you learn to deal with/adapt to things. The snow is still with me most days, along with other mild visual distortions. the ringing is directly linked to anxiety, which has essentially disappeared. and the depression is nothing but a thing of the past. So pretty much, just stay as positive as you can. some days it's gonna be less than others. but the bottom line is, time heals all if you stick around to see it through. when my snow gets thick or something starts to warp a lil bit, i just enjoy the show- it's all about perspective.
cheers everyone, im trying really hard. talking to my mum about everythign as really dont think could go through this on my own. dont have a clue where i would be if didn't tell her and these forums what i have been going through. i can cope during the day. but my sleep is what annoys me the most. i can't relax my thoughts some times. and when close to sleep my head just wonders instead of relaxes. i can have basically a proper trip if concentrate on my visual snow when my eyes are closed. i also think im having very vivid dreams from all this. but have learnt to just forget them when i wake up. was extremely disturbing a few weeks ago
I have never taken acid, but I do get migraines...sometimes I will walk in to a room and it looks like the room is foggy, or very dusty. I also have a floater in my eye fluid. I get starbursts, and my night vision is terrible due to the trails coming off any lights I see. I didn't know there was a name for it.
