No. of Facebook Friends vs Real Life Friends

On Facebook, I have 243 "Friends", in real life, 3 besides the s/o, and not including relatives,Friend in real life being defined by someone who if they rang me and needed me to be somewhere at a certain time for something and didnt get some kind of reward, I'd actually bother showing up


Actually even with most of the relatives I'd make up some lame ass excuse

94 Facebook friends...and then out of them, there are different classes of friends. There are work friends, people who used to hang out here all the time but don't anymore for various reasons, friends who have moved away, friends that I don't see very often but are still like family, family, and then the people who added me cuz they are friend whores. Haha. But I know all but one of those FB friends in real life, though. But my real friends come and go. We're kind of reserved people, so we'll find a reason to be social for awhile, then we end up becoming hermits again. I'm not sure how many actual friends I have these days, because I don't keep up with that. Haha.

I stopped using facebook when my mom became friends with my ex-girlfriend from 7 years ago

 

Being in college, facebook is both helpful and hurtful when dealing with new friendships. Facebook profiles, while not being accurate, paint a picture of a person before you ever give them a chance in person. Most of my friends are people from school.

I set up an account for my mom, only to have one of my ex's who I cant stand and never wanted to hear of again send her a friend request, she accepted of course cos she really liked him, and now every so often in "people you may know" up pops that face that makes you go grrrrrr

 

Talking to a "wall" never seemed that cool before.....FB Sucks

I have a facebook and i know everyone on there in person except for the people i added from the SL.


Most of all of them are from school.

 

I have 0 facebook friends and 2 real life friends

(I do not have a facebook)

 

205 Facebook friends

and counting proper friends, I have 9. But I know all my Facebook friends, I don't accept unless I genuinely know and talk to them.

Some people I know have people on their Facebook and they will see them in public, and ignore it like they didn't know each other- which to me means they probably don't 'really'.

 

That's why I try to keep my facebook friends lower... in the 100s.... Limited to people I have once been acquainted with, and people who I went to school with, although I'm not even friends with all of them.

For me facebook is a great way for keeping in touch with my group of friends back home when I'm at school during the week. I like it, it's fun for sharing links, music, thoughts with your group of friends and then some.

And I don't need to be friends with everyone to stalk people, you can see most people's pictures regardless.
