Well good luck with the pizza hut job.

Well at goodwill i guess we do have it good.
We are suppost to take two five minute breaks every two hours paid and a 30 minute lunch every four hours unpaid for full time but i am usually so busy i forget to take my breaks but we can get into trouble if we forget our lunch. Our breaks are suppost to be 15 minutes but they cut them down....

So, what happened? Did you get fired? Get the new job or what?

As for the discussion about laws... I see people from both other states then the OP as well as other countries, offering advice based on the laws they live with. I am pretty sure that the employment laws in Canada, differ from those in the states. I would even go as far as saying that I am pretty sure that we have much better protections for employees here then they do in any of the states...

Now having said that... regardless of where you are, if the company considers you a good employee, they will find a way to keep you... If they consider you a drain... they will find a way to get rid of you.

Unless you are a 100% perfect employee, they CAN find the reasons to get rid of you legally... And if you are a perfect employee, they wouldn't even look for one.

Well, I applied for the PH job at 5 PM last night and it's only 8:21 AM, so I won't likely hear anything from them for awhile. And I'm still not sure about my job, I'm scheduled to be at work at 9 and I guess I'll probably know by the end of the day if I'm going to continue to work there for now.

It'd be great if you got the Pizza Hut job, without losing pay in between.

Also, quitting at DQ would be very satisfying. :D

My dad got attacked with a bat once too. They stopped delivering in that ghetto afterwards.

Both my brother and dad worked for the same Domino's and there were at least two female drivers (though one was an owner's wife)

I didnt realize the job was at dairy queen... Seriously I realize that you need work and the money from it to survive... but dont let a job like DQ (or even PH) to stress you out. They are definitely not worth it... I'm not saying just walk away, after all, money is money, but don't let it get to you... The next job like that is opening up at another fast food place as we speak... lol

Unless of course your immediate supervisor(s) feel threatened by you being better at their job then they are.

There is always at least one frigging employee at each site, each company, each level, that tries to get ahead or tries hanging on to their job by kissing ass, spreading false rumours, back stabbing, blame shifting rather than actually concentrating on improving themselves. One can be the 100% perfect employee and still get fucked over by a collegue

Haha, yeah, I just got off work. So far so good. They said as long as they can keep it from the VP of the company, I'm good. As long as they can get HR to handle it without going any higher (and they should be able to), there won't be any more repercussions. No calls from Pizza Hut today, but still keeping my fingers crossed. They keep the apps in their database for 90 days so I'm secretly hoping they'll call after the holidays, so I can use up the last of my paid time off before I leave the Queen. :)

lol, Yeah, my last manager flat out told us if he had to fuck every last one of us over by lying to save his job, he would. He said his job was more important than all of ours and we should just keep that in mind. Thank GOD he got canned by his own doing and he couldn't pin it on anyone else.

I don't see what the VP would have to do with this, he or she likely has alot more to worry about than your situation. And once again I think you did the right thing considering the situation and there is no way you should be able to get in trouble for that.

Well atleast you didn't loose your job.

Yea last night at goodwill there was this saw that was donated it would normally be like $30 and this PRICER tried pricing it for $9.99 and then he tried hiding it but which can completely get you fired at goodwill and then he got caught and by the end of it theres this new guy that we just hired and hes a donation attendant and he got the donation attendant to hide it (which he didn't know that he can loose his job over that, nor did the pricer tell him so) so if they see it on the camera it would be the donation attendant to loose his job and not the pricer... Its like what an asshole!

And my manager always likes to hire new people apparently shes about to fire like two donation attendants.. shes a bitch. And theres this guy that works on the floor with me and he doesn't even do his job right and hes always bragging and stuff that his section is colorized and organized and its always out of shape..

I know what you mean...

I have no sympathy for someone who gets caught in this circle...

Someone (who isn't a personal friend that you value above your job) asks you to hide something or cover it up or ignore it... say FUCK NO...

People make their own choices. If they choose to follow someone (or their advice) blindly, they deserve what they get.

Hey Logan... pay attention to this, it applies to the other thread as well...

Well the manager could have gotten them both fired yesterday if he wanted to be a complete ass.... but he really is a great manager.
He made sure to let the donation attendant know NOT TO EVER do it again. I think the poor guy was just doing as he was told because it was on the floor and sometimes donation attendants put out large items... large electronics like tvs and furniture... he also told him when hes given instructions to run it by a manager first.
My managers, corporate manager and the VP watches the cameras pretty often.
