I know this is an old thread but I didn't feel like starting a new one. Since this is on the same topic I have a few questions on. So I just split a couple of my dreads and have been freaking out since I decided to closely look at them to see if they might have gotten mouldy. I don't think it is mould as I am not sick nor do they smell. Mouldy dreads will smell nasty right? Anyways I think it could be lint cause I do live with a cat and dog that shed TREMENDOUSLY. Lint isn't really a bother is it? I don't really feel like picking it out cause that would be too much work... What would mouldy dreads look like anyways? Blah.. I think I am putting too much thought into this....

Mouldy Dreads Would Have A Blue Or Green Hue To Them,

And They Would Smell *you guessed it* Mouldy...:).

A Small Amount Of Lint Cannot Be Avoided...:).

I saw the same thing inside my boyfriend's dreads, I'm pretty sure it's just dust and lint sticking to the oils in your hair
