i really love this band... yeah! My Generation People try to put us d-down Just because we get around Things they do look awful c-c-cold Hope I die before I get old This is my generation, This is my generation, baby. Why don't you all f-f-f-fade away? Don't try to dig what we all s-s-say I'm not trying to cause a big s-sensation I'm just talking 'bout my g-g-generation This is my generation, This is my generation, baby.
Fuck My Generation, I love The Who especially Tommy but My Generation is definently not only their worst song but it is also sooooooooo fuckin' overrated
Well, "My Generation" certainly isn't their best song, but it's hardly their worst. Have you heard their 80's work? ()
Definitely. The deluxe edition with the entire live performance of Tommy is great; it's one of my favorite live albums.
you are all right (almost right) my generation is not their best song... it is good (definitely not their worst!) by the way i think it is the first punk rock song... i like petes spiritual stuff... you know what i mean.... tommy is an amazing masterpiece... i have several versions and it is really really cool but what i like most is their concert style... the way how they perform... its awesome...
Hearing "Love Reign O'er Me" at the end of Quadrophenia is astounding. The song is powerful on its own, but with the album it's, as you said, moving.
My generation is a good song, nobody said it was their best. I don't like Happy Jack at all. It sucks, but the band is great and one of my favs. As for live albums, i like the isle of white. I think the sound quality is better on that recording rather then live at leads. And the sound levels are better, the vocals and the instrumentation sound levels meld better. Although pete's playing on magic bus on the live at leads album is great. How he plays with his own echo. but the vocals I think sound awful on that performance of the song.
Bah, "Happy Jack" doesn't suck! It's not amazing, but it certainly doesn't suck. I have the Isle of Wight DVD, and I think it's great, but I still prefer Live at Leeds. The Live at Leeds version of "Young Man Blues" is the best I've heard, and the concert includes some great, rare live recording such as "Tattoo" and "A Quick One, While He's Away." It's rare to find those songs on their live albums, or so it seems. Plus, "Magic Bus" and the 15 minute version of "My Generation" on Live at Leeds are really great.
yes that picture does make this thread rock and ive seen them twice, once in september after john passed...i was blown away, but then i saw them this past may, and they were 1000 times tighter after getting back and having more rehersal time....btw.....eminence front is pretty good too, but they really shant have put out the new songs w/o john and starkey is pretty nasty
my favorite the who albums would be their albums from 1966-1969 but some of their early 70's stuff is also good like 'live at leeds' and 'Quadrophenia' ... 'Who's next' is also good but there's just something about their 60's albums and songs that i really love .... have always liked mods very much
Heh, I feel that exact same way. I love their work from 1965-1969, but save for Live at Leeds, Quadrophenia, and Odds & Sods, I'm not really a fan of their '70s work. However, Odds & Sods isn't even really a '70s album; it contains songs mostly from the '60s. I'm not a big fan of Who's Next, The Who By Numbers, Who Are You, or anything after that.
