I am so dang done. this is a partly venting thread, and partly I am need of serious advise. I have been suffering from lupus, from before they diagnosed me. I always suspected this is what i had, bc of chronic rashes, chronic pain, and a host of other things. Well the pain has gotten really bad. I contemplated getting an wheelchair the other day, bc I was in so much pain when I got home from just running regular errands, being on my feet. It hurt so bad. I couldnt get up or walk around my house. The problem is when I discuss this pain with my rheumatologist, and my pain doctor, they all say the same thing. YOU have a chronic condition, and we can not give you pain meds. So I was stuck taking muscle relaxants, which are placebos they do nothing. Now I am stuck. Been trying herbs, even been using mj whenever I can get my hands on it, and it works pretty good. But I really can not be stoned everyday, and the amount I have to smoke to get pain relief, makes me very very tired. I dont know how much longer I can do this. EVERY DAMN day, ia m struggling to take my kids to the park, making excuses, of the things I can not do with people, bc OF my pain! I need some serious alternative medicines, (please dont suggest mj-weed, it is too tiring for me, dont get me wrong I love weed, but I can not smoke everyday). I just dont know what to do anymore. NO doctor listens to me. I am just getting nowhere. and I almost to the point where when it gets so bad. I want to just walk into the er. and scream at the people. I can not take this pain anymore
have any of you tried an herb or medicine that actually worked??

Obviously, you need some sort of pain medication... Roxy's, Oxy's, Opana, Percs, Something hard... but if you wont take hard drugs then you might be stuck with your pain.

Hope you find something to ease your pain... being in pain like that sucks!

Have you tried Naproxin (Aleve)? It's given by prescription but is the same thing. I take them for headaches but I'm sure it is used for body pain as well. I imagine you know of this but wanted to at least let you know. I am always weary of giving medical advice on here so please be aware of the health risks associated with this.

    I hope you feel better.

I tried all the otc stuff. for years, does nothing.

and I can not get narcs, if djomalley had read my thread, mY doctor will not prescribe narcs, of any kind for me. and I really dont want to buy it off the street.

Maybe any herbs, or stuff people have tried?

thanks everyone so far!! I hate being in this much pain. It truly does suck the life out of you.

Ever dosed with LSD? Not that I'd expect it to work for an auto-immune disorder, but I do get about 3-5 day relief from osteo-arthritis and other chronic pain after dosing . . .

Another psychedelic that comes immediately to mind is mescaline or cactus resin. There is a sort of healthy, golden glow that follows these experiences for me. I cannot help but wonder if it might be beneficial for the immune system.

I am sorry you are in this situation and I know these suggestions suck. I also would counsel you against seeking too many opiate-based pain meds. They don't really treat pain - they alter your consciousness and thus your perception of and relation to pain. Is there any way you might be able to consult with a pain management specialist?

Thanks spicey cat, I have yet to try lsd, ayahuaca, helped with my emotional pain a lot.
and I am goign to try san pedro this weekend. I hope it truly helps.

I just am at a loss, the opiates actually helped, back in the day when they still gave them to me, but I know what you are saying. I really just want something natural, and not so harmful, and yet, no one I know seems to know of anything, that does work, that isnt just an placebo. I am really trying. If I didnt get so tired on weed, I would use that everyday.
I see an pain clinic, and they only deal with pain. But they are so useless. never believe in anything natural, and they only seem to give me muscle relaxants. It is such a useless feat, I stopped going. They are no help whatsoever.

I really need to feel better. I have 2 kids, that I need to be able to get out and about with.

You might get some relief using a walking stick. That could strain your arm and hand but the trade off could be worth it. It seems anyone would be reluctant who knows they don't need it to use a wheelchair for different reasons but I say go ahead and use the scooters provided and the front of stores whenever possible. That's what they are there for.

It is an opiate receptor stimulator, but have you tried Kratom? It is ground leaf from the Mitragyna speciosa plant. It stimulates all 3 types of opiate receptors. The first couple hours are energized, like having a dose of caffeine - promotes work and productivity. If the user does not re-dose the next couple of hours are like a mild opiate effect. Due to addiction issues and the same thing I said about opiates, I would not recommend it for regular use, but maybe to get through a crisis or flare up . . . .

P.S.: I'll be with you in spirit this weekend - I'm going to eat about a quarter ounce of San Pedro cactus resin.

I am so sorry to hear of your terrible pain .I am a chronic pain patient with fibromyagia ,Chrons etc .Have you considered pain management ? They treat chronic pain .I would get my primary care physician to refer me to one .I am going to one and it changed my life .I can now function on a daily basis and it has given me my life back .I take narcotics as I have never been able to find a natural alternative .I wish you the best and I hope you are able to find something to help you .Take care
