This is Overkill's best output in a while. Great mix of thrash and groove. Its the fucking thrashiest groove on the face of the planet, and they should be commended for it. Shit, most of it isn't even really groove anymore.

I can't stand this album, the riffs are cool but the drums ruin it.... My drum machine on my computer has more realistic kicks...

Your telling me you don't hear how triggered those kicks are? Those drums wouldn't even be hard to do on an acoustic kit but that drummer is probably 50 years old now and can't lift his legs up.

It always makes me sad when old thrash bands start going for a modern production sound.... And almost every drummer from back in the day sucks now... Ulrich sucks, Bostaph sucks, Whoever the fuck drummed for Megadeth when I saw them sucks.

LET ME FUCKING DRUM IN YOUR BAND IF YOUR TOO TIRED OLD MAN!!!!!!

To be honest I dont play the drums but they sounded good to me compared to other kits from other bands.

    LOL

what do you expect? to always have 1983 production? :D

but yeah new Megadeth drummer sucks.

I saw Overkill last night and it was awesome! I catched a water bottle from Bobby Blitz and he crowd surfed! The opening bands weren't that bad. I'll check them out later. The opening bands where Bonded By Blood,Gama Bomb, EvilE and Forbidden. I dont think none of them sounded metalcore ( :) ).

If you liked what Overkill were doing back in the 80s, this is a much more polished version.

The easiest way to explain it is that you could tap the kick drum as light as a feather but you're still going to get the best sound imaginable.

It's mostly used by modern DM bands but lots of other bands are using them now because their drummers are too old to keep up *cough Lars cough*... It's getting really sad.

I just watched a couple Overkill vids from this year and the kicks are triggered. But I can see the drummer is hitting them hard as fuck, so he's just using them to get the perfect sound, which is acceptable.

When you're playing live and using insanely fast double kicks the bass drum is going to get lost in the mix and just sound like a blur because it's going so fast. Most of the time people use a "clickier" sound for the samples so it's not just a bunch of low end.
