US Election 2010

This seemed like it was The Fox Elections. Political victories entirely engineered by a fake "news network" that in reality is a relentless and powerful right-wing propaganda machine.
Democrats need to wake up and figure out how they're going to do handle this, going forward-
I'm not a big political guy anymore ,but as more of a libertarian than anything else, this is just the feeling I got observing the results and the talking heads from yesterday---

Locally here in New Hampshire that Bitch Kelly Ayotte defeated Democrat Paul Hodes for the senate seat, but otherwise Democratic Governor John Lynch defeated John Stephens, and in Massachusetts all ten democratic congressional seats were upheld along with the governorship :2thumbsup:

Screw the news, listen to the words coming out of the mouths of the politicians, and since they appear to lack the time. effort. or perhaps just the intelligence, read the bills they are voting on.

 

Something is seriously wrong with the news channels in that fucking country. Last night I was switching back and forth between many. Right from the start CNN had written on their screen "Republicans WIN the house". Long before the thing even ended. They only covered Republican speeches, even in the states where Democrats won, CNN showed the Republican loser's speech rather than the Democrat winner's. They only talked about Republicans and how well they were doing even when it seemed as though they weren't doing that good.

Fuck CNN! They can suck a big blue veined dick. I refuse to ever watch that fascist whore network ever again.

 

I think we should only vote for incumbents who spend less than 90% of their time on fundraising (kissing ass and making promises they have no intention of keeping). From what I hear, they don't read the bills they vote on because they are fundraising all the time.

 

I just want to say that John Boehner is the biggest liar in Congress. Assume that the opposite of what he says is much closer to the truth.

 

Rather than call someone a liar, acquaint us with the lies he's telling/told in their full context.

 

I sure could, but it will take me a while. I can't recall a time he spoke the truth.

It's very easy to figure out when Boehner is lying. His mouth opens, and words come out.

 

Your definition applies to all politicians, and for that matter most humans as well much of the time.

 

How about, for a start, that he says he intends to embrace the new Teabag representatives and their issues. That's laughable. Then we can go on about his claims that Republicans are for small government, that's cryable. And his claims that Republicans will work with Democrats, that's unimaginable.

But they do work together. They're just amazing actors at pretending like they hate each other. They both still favor the same shadow government operations that contribute to the destruction of the national and world economy.

 

What "shadow government operations" would those be?

You're supposing that these people are submitting to a common goal among themselves rather than the more obvious intent of personal enrichment.

Government conspiracy is a contradiction of terms. The real conspiracy lies with the corporate community where the money and expertise is. They make use of our elected leaders via bribes and propaganda.

Those are proven lies or just your opinion to be lies? I think he will have to work with all the newly elected representatives to some degree if they are to do anything at all, and the issues brought in by the new blood may be what needs to be listened to most. I'm waiting to see if any progress comes about in decreasing government size. Working with Democrats can only be possible if Democrats recognize that the agenda is of the people and not of the government, including the Republican party.
Government should be a result of the will of the people, and the politicians should try to abide by the peoples desires within the constraints of the Constitution, without manipulating it, but by changing it if or when necessary. That's quite different from what BOTH parties have been doing for a century now.

What are you talking about? Most of this stuff is legislation that was passed with the full knowledge of American citizens, nothing shadowy about that.

New world order...Come on, that one's been going around since I was a teenager. I think it was the John Birchers who came up with it, and they were proved to be liars.

I learned a long time ago that anyone can start any bullshit rumor and a small % of the population will believe it. Keep it going long enough and that % gets bigger. Put 2 people in the same room who kinda think it could be true and 20 minutes later you have 2 firm believers.

Doesn't anyone demand proof any more, or is a web site now considered a good substitute for evidence?

Just look at all of the campaign ads for TeaBaggers in this election that were sponsored by groups with fancy names like "Citizens United" and funded by "Anonymous Donors." Then look at how much K Street has paid for legislation that directly benefits corporations at the expense of Average Joe.

Our elected representatives are selling America one piece at a time and they've got you chasing down stupid "shadow" conspiracies.
