German police in the city of Hamburg have been seen wearing new uniforms with cannabis leaf emblems on them. These police have been making random stops of traffic, and apparently looking for drugs including cannabis. Perhaps they are searching traffic coming from Holland? Is this the new drug police? Like cannabis is such a bad drug! Of course someone could be bringing in pounds of meth or Ecstasy, but I guess that's fine with the drug NAZIs!

Yeah that is kind of backwards thinking. But I will say that I would let that officer strip search me, especially if I got to search her :drool5:

Actually, Hamburg is almost 3 hours from the Dutch border. When I first moved there I used to drive to Groeningen to stock up on herb, but since the mid-90s it's been semi-legal in Hamburg...personal use even less enforced than in CA, plenty of coffee shops sell it under the counter. I'm thinking they're looking for hard drugs, which are a big prob in inner-city Hamburg, or kilos coming over the border.

Then why the Pot Patch? Why not a heroin needle? Or a bottle of prescription pills (that get abused far more frequently than heroin or cannabis)

And how are they going to know if someone has a few ecstasy tabs or meth or heroin just by stopping a car? No they're looking for the smell of cannabis.

I think pot goes great with Hamburgers, no?

drogenerkennung is probably like the american DEA. i do not speak german but i will guess and say that drogenerkennung means something like drug enforcement.

In Europe, the countries and areas are considerably small. It would seem to be fairly easy to go anywhere in Germany and sell drugs and return to Holland or vice versa. Can Hollanders be charged by the German police?

Officially they dont do any more border controls but instead they made a police state and they control everywhere now. I think there is more police per square mile in europe than in the US. I only know the border Switzerland- Germany and there they control frequently in the trains.

Still there is always Over the hills and through the woods, and underground society of traveling drug dealers.
It would still be difficult to assert much drug control. There are always going to be ways.
